I want to report a bug. Something is not working in the translation interface. What should I do?

As this is still a beta version of the platform, there might be a few bugs here and there. If you spot a bug, let us know using our "Report a bug" form, which you can access clicking on the "Report a bug" tab at the top of this page. We are continuously working to improve the Chappy translation platform and your feedback is really helpful.

Joining Bumble for the first time or coming back after some time away? Getting (re)started can be a lot. Here are some tips to help:

Show your true self

Everyone is welcome on Bumble, no matter their race, religion, nationality, ethnicity, skin color, ability, size, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

We encourage you to show the most honest version of you!

Say what you’re looking for

If you know, say what you’re looking for. Being specific about what you want is great, and Bumble lets you filter to see only people looking for the same thing you are.

And if that’s not dates, you can use BFF and Bizz modes too.

Complete your profile

The profile struggle is real, but there are things we know for sure that potential matches love to see:

  • Forward-facing pictures that show your eyes and smile
  • Positivity! Don’t waste words saying what you don’t want
  • Focus on what you like, things you and your match could have in common
  • Profile Prompts are a great way to show off your personality

How can I add photos to my profile?

To upload a photo, just open your profile page and tap on the сamera icon in the top right corner . You will then have an option to select a source to add photos from or take a completely new one.

Being unmatched


Bumble data shows most unmatches happen before chats even begin. So if you’ve noticed this happening to you, rest assured it’s not a reflection of you as a person!

But being unmatched after a good chat or a date is different. We know this can hurt, which is why we introduced our Unmatched feature.

If you’ve been talking to someone and they unmatch you, the Unmatched feature means you’ll be kindly made aware rather than the conversation suddenly disappearing.

Most importantly, it also means you can still report the person to Bumble if something has happened and you need support from us.

The Bumble community told us that being able to see when they’d been unmatched gave some welcome closure to a sometimes unpleasant experience, and helped them to go find someone better suited.

We hope you feel the same, and remember that your safety is our top priority. We’re always here if you need us.

What is Chappy Premium?

Chappy Premium is our paid service, giving you access to exclusive perks and features that make it easier to date the way that works for you. For example, you can see everyone who’s interested in you, or browse the app invisibly for some extra privacy.

If you're interested in Chappy Premium and you're using a Apple device, follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to your profile
  2. Tap on Chappy Premium
  3. Choose your preferred price plan and a notification will prompt you to finalise your purchase.

If you continue, the costs will automatically be charged to your iTunes account.

What is Chappy Premium?

Chappy Premium gives you extra features that other users don’t have! These features help you to meet people faster on Chappy. Benefits include chatting with new and popular users, access to see who liked or favourited you, invisibility and much more.

If you would like to subscribe to Chappy Premium; just open your profile page, tap on Chappy Premium, choose your payment method and preferred package and follow the instructions.


Most of the packages are subscription based, which means that they renew
automatically. To manage your subscription, go to your profile to open Settings, tap on Account Preferences and select Payment settings.

Why am I seeing a blurred image?

Have you ever received a photo from someone that has been blurred out by Bumble? If so, that’s our Private Detector in action.

Private Detector works by using A.I. to automatically blur a lewd photo before letting you know you’ve been sent something potentially inappropriate.  

If you’d then like to see the photo anyway, you can simply tap it to reveal. But if not, you can ignore it or choose to report it if you want to. The choice is completely yours!

How can I add photos to my profile?

To upload a photo, please follow the instructions below:
  1. Open your profile page
  2. Tap on the camera icon in the top left corner
  3. Select a source to add photos from or take a new one by tapping on the camera icon

How can I search for people in People Nearby?

You can search for Chappy users by going to People nearby and selecting the filter icon in the top right corner. You are able to find people based on their gender, age and whether you want to chat, make friends or date or simply by entering another city.

I'm having trouble installing the latest version of Chappy for Android app

If you're having trouble installing the latest version of Chappy for Android, try these troubleshooting tips:

1. Check to see how much space is available on your phone or tablet:
  • Open your Android's settings.
  • Open your storage settings.

If you have less than 100MB available, you can uninstall apps to clear up space, then retry the download. Alternatively, you may be able to move your Chappy app to your Android's SD card.

2. Cancel and restart the download.

3. Log out of Chappy, then retry the download.

4. Review Google's tips for troubleshooting download issues.

5. Uninstall your Chappy app, restart your phone and then re-install the Chappy app from the Google Play Store.

How can I view my profile as it appears to others?

To view your profile as it appears to other Bumble users, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the profile avatar icon in the bottom left corner of your screen
  2. Tap the circular photo of your profile image in the center of the screen (do not tap the pencil icon - this will prompt you to edit your profile)
  3. Scroll down to view your profile

Why has my subscription or purchase not been activated?

If you purchased Spotlight, SuperSwipes, or a Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium subscription, but it hasn’t activated in your account yet it could be for a few reasons:

  1. Your purchase is still being processed. You can check this within your purchase history on Google Play or iTunes.
  2. Your purchase failed. This can happen for a variety of reasons (e.g., insufficient funds, a restriction by your bank, a technical error, etc). You can check to see if your purchase was fully processed within your purchase history.
  3. Your purchase wasn’t properly activated on our end.

If you’ve been charged and your purchase hasn’t been reflected in your Bumble account, please contact our Support Team and send them a screenshot of your receipt. If you made your purchase through Google Play or iTunes, the receipt will be in the email linked to those accounts. We can’t accept a screenshot of your credit card statement as it doesn’t show exactly what you purchased.

How can I add pictures to my profile?

To add a photo to your profile simply go to your profile and click on Add Photos . You can choose whether you want to upload photos from Facebook, Instagram, Google + or if you want to upload them directly from your computer. Please note that the file format has to be either JPG or PNG and the file size limit is 128 MB.

You can now add videos as well! Just import one of your Instagram videos by clicking on Add Videos on your profile page.

How I can add someone to my Favourites?

To add a user to your favourites just visit their profile, click on the icon in the top right corner. If there's no star icon, just click on the icon and select 'Add to favourites'.

If you have already started a conversation with the user you can go to your 'Messages' section and click on the star icon next to the users's name.

What is Chappy Premium?

How many credits can I buy?

You can buy 100, 550, 1250 or 2750 credits at a time.

How do Credits work?

Chappy credits help you boost your profile and get seen by more people. Credits allow you to use our 'Spotlight' service, vote more times in Encounters and increase the number of people you can message every day. You can also activate Auto Top-up to guarantee you never run out of credits.

I made a new profile by mistake, how do I get back into my original account?

If you accidentally made a new profile, there is an easy fix to get you back into your original account. Just follow these steps below: 

Mobile:

  • Tap the grey silhouette on the bottom left corner of the main screen
  • Tap the grey gear in the top right corner of the screen
  • Scroll to the bottom and select “Delete account”
  • Enter the word “delete” in all lowercase and tap to confirm

Once your new account is deleted, log in using the opposite method you previously tried (e.g., if you used your phone number try logging in with Facebook)

Web:

  • Click your profile image in the top left corner of the screen
  • Go to your settings
  • Scroll down and tap on “Delete account”
  • Follow the instructions to delete your account

Pro tip: We recommend adding multiple login methods to your account to avoid creating a new profile by mistake.

Can you delete one mode and not the others?

You can delete your Date mode and keep your Bumble BFF and Bizz profiles! To delete your Date mode, please follow these steps:

  • Head into your Settings by tapping the silhouette icon followed by the grey gear in the upper right-hand corner of the app
  • You can then toggle off the button next to ‘Date Mode’ to disable the mode
  • Once you tap the toggle, you will be notified that your dating profile will be permanently deleted and all of your connections will be erased in Date mode

Currently, there’s no option to delete your BFF or Bizz profiles. However, your profile will only be visible in the mode you have open. 

Pro tip: Make sure you take screenshots of any special conversations you have on Date mode before deactivating it as they will be permanently removed once it’s disabled.

How it works

 In heterosexual matches on Bumble, women are required to make the first move. Once a match is established, the woman will have 24 hours to make the first move, or the connection expires.

In same-gender matches, either person has the power to make the first move. Then, the other person has 24 hours to respond, or the connection expires.

We have some fun features which allow you to extend time on a match you are really interested in or rematch with an expired connection. Check them out!

How to Date Safely and Respectfully

Dating Safely

Are you ready to date IRL? Here are some tips to help you stay safe once you’ve decided to meet your match in person—and ensure your date feels comfortable too! 

Before the date: 

  • Ask your match to get verified using Bumble’s photo verification feature in the app. 
  • Use our video chat or voice call feature to “meet” your date virtually before you take it offline. That way, you can be 100% sure they’re who they say they are!
  • The first time you meet, make sure it’s in a public place. 
  • Tell somebody close to you your date’s name, where you’re going, and when—and that you’ll contact them once you’re safely home afterward.

During the date:

  • Don’t give out private information about yourself right away, like your home or office address.
  • If you’re drinking, keep an eye on your drink. If you have to leave it for any length of time, you can order a fresh one! 
  • Always feel free to politely leave the date. If you don’t feel comfortable, it’s important to put yourself first. 
  • Find an advocate nearby, like a bartender or waiter. Enlist their help to get you out of an uncomfortable situation by saying you have an urgent call.
  • If it’s something more serious, ask the bartender or waiter to help you organize a way to get home—or call the police.

Dating respectfully

Remember, your date is probably just as nervous as you are! Here are some ways to make sure you’re treating your match with respect when you meet in person.

Before the date:

  • Make sure your own profile is verified on Bumble before asking to meet IRL. You can offer to video chat in the app a few days beforehand to make sure your date’s feeling comfortable that you are who you say you are!
  • If you’re planning a date, include an option that doesn’t involve alcohol, like a trip to a museum or roller skating rink. That way, your date won’t feel pressured to drink if they don’t want to.  
  • Make sure you’ve discussed any boundaries before meeting up. The pandemic may be ending, but there are many people who’d prefer to stick to outdoor and/or masked dates for now. 

 During the date:

  • See each date as the chance to get to know someone better, rather than going in with any expectations that your meetup should progress beyond that. 
  • Be kind, embrace a positive attitude, and aim to have fun. That'll help put your date at ease. 
  • Remember: neither one of you owes each other anything, no matter who pays for the meal.

How can I increase my popularity?

If your popularity is low there are loads of easy ways to boost it! Just go to your Popularity page and select one of our features for credits. You can use Get featured , Rise up to first place in search results   , show up more in Encounters  or tell everyone you are online and ready to chat  .

Your popularity shows you how much your profile rocks! Your average popularity is calculated daily based on your new visitors, new matches and the amount of people who like your profile. If you want to give your profile a boost, use our premium features like Rise Up, Get Featured, Extra Shows or get Chappy Premium!

Where is Night In available?

Our Night In Feature is currently available in India, New Zealand, Australia, the U.S, and Canada.

How do I make my profile 100% complete?

You may have noticed a percentage appearing on your Bumble profile image. This is an indicator of how complete your profile is. We’ve found that the more information you add to your profile, the easier it is for people to initiate conversations. Why not give them something to talk about! 

To reach 100% profile completion, here’s what you’ll need: 

  • Four or more photos added to your profile
  • The “About me” section filled out
  • Verify your profile so people know you are the real deal!
  • Basic Info Badges added to your profile. The more badges you have, the more searches you will show up for other people.

Remember: When filling out your profile, only share what you’re comfortable with other people knowing. It’s okay to display your work info generically if you don’t feel safe (e.g., writing “Barista at Coffeeshop” rather than “Shift Lead at Starbucks”). Although getting as close to 100% as possible typically has a positive impact, we always want you to do what feels right for you!  For more tips on how to make your profile stand out head here

How can I cancel my subscription when purchased via SMS?

If you’ve subscribed to Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium via SMS, when you opened the subscription you would have been given specific instructions on how to cancel. Your cancelation instructions will differ depending on the network you use, the device you are on, and the country that you are located in. 

Some subscriptions can be canceled in your Bumble payment settings by following these instructions, while others may require you to send a STOP command via SMS. If you can’t remember which option you need to do, first attempt to close your subscription via your Bumble payment settings and if that doesn’t work, simply follow the instructions in your initial subscription confirmation SMS message, or any subscription renewal SMS.

Why can’t I ask my match to Photo Verify mid-chat?

You’re only able to ask a match to Photo Verify as a First Move or as a first response. Don’t worry though! Our Video Chat feature is a great option to get to know your matches you’re already chatting with a little better.

How old do I need to be to use Bumble?

To become a member of Bumble, you’ll need to be 18 years of age or older. If you’re not yet 18, we’ll happily welcome you to the Hive when you’re old enough. 

If you’re 18 years of age or older and your profile has been blocked for being underage, reach out to our Support team here so they can help fix that for you!

As well as all of the great features above, you'll also be able to use Chappy completely free of adverts!

My Backtrack isn’t working, what can I do?

Backtrack is now a feature of Bumble Boost and Bumble Premium. If you are subscribed, to use Backtrack all you need to do is tap the arrow on the top left corner of your encounters screen. 

Our system enables the Backtrack feature for you after you have swiped at least once in each direction. If you have already done this and are still not seeing the arrow to Backtrack on the top left corner, we recommend following these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Sign out of Bumble.
  2. Delete the Bumble app. (This will not delete your profile.)
  3. Clear your web browser's cookies and cache from your device settings.
  4. Redownload the Bumble app and sign back in.
  5. Swipe right once, then left for the arrow to appear.

How can I manage my Privacy?

You can manage your privacy by following these steps:

  1. Open your profile page
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap on Privacy

You will then be able to choose whether you want to show others your online status and distance, as well as disable public search and Bumped into. You also have the option to limit profile showing, or forbid your profile being shared and searched for by email.

How can I hide my account?

If you don't want to use your account for a while, you have the option to hide it. When your account is hidden, you will not appear in People Nearby or the Encounters. Users you chatted with in the past can still message you but you will not able to read the message unless you unhide your profile.

To hide your account simply go to your settings , select 'Delete account' at the bottom of the page and select the option 'Hide your account'. As soon as you confirm this you will be logged out automatically. To read your messages, get seen in People nearby and Encounters again, simply log back in and unhide your profile.

What features do I have access to when using Chappy Premium?

How can I change my location?

In your profile, just click on next to your current location and either enter a new one or select one from the dropdown menu.

If you cannot see the when trying to change your location it is because of one of these reasons:

  • You are using the mobile app and the website at the same time and therefore your location will be automatically detected by the GPS of your mobile device and cannot be changed.
  • You don't use the app and your browser's location services are not providing us with accurate coordinates. Simply disable location services on your browser and you can then manually set your location on your profile.

Contact our Customer Care Team if you have issues with your location when using the mobile app.

How do I sign in to Chappy?

To sign-in on the desktop site, choose Sign in at the top of the homepage. Enter your email address and password and click 'Sign me in!'

How do I join?

Ghosting (and when it’s ok)


Bumble believes in being real about the imperfect nature of dating. We fully get that ghosting can be disappointing or frustrating, but sometimes it happens.

If someone suddenly stops messaging you, see it as their loss and an opportunity to find someone better for you!

All that said, there are times when it’s absolutely ok to ghost someone:

  • If there is no regard for your consent or a threat to your personal safety in any way.

  • When someone continues to send messages despite you giving clear signs that you’re not interested.

Preparing for safety IRL


Your safety IRL is as important as safety on the app. Here are things you can do in the build up to make sure you don’t run into any problems.

Be careful what you share

It’s worth keeping your home address (and maybe your place of work) private at first, just in case the first meet doesn’t go well and you need to step back.

This also applies to the photos on your profile. If you can, avoid making places that you frequent too obvious. 

Get your detective on

There is zero shame in doing some background research. Checking social media to make sure a match is who they say they are is something many people do, and a great way to raise any red flags.

Do your verifying

You can ask them to verify themselves via Bumble if you’re in any doubt at all, but beyond that, a Voice or Video call is the best way to make sure the vibes are as they should be.

Agree a public place

Public places carry fewer risks and are usually more fun for the first few dates. Meeting somewhere with staff also means you can ask them for help if uncomfortable situations arise.

Also be sure to tell someone where you agree to meet and who you’re meeting, then let them know once you get home.

It’s date night! Once you’ve prepared well for meeting IRL, here are our first date tips that will help keep you safe and in a healthy state of mind to have fun.

Physical safety

  • Arrange your own transport to and from a date. This keeps your address private and means you can leave whenever you need to.
  • Remember there’s no pressure to greet your date in any particular way.
  • If you’re drinking, keep an eye on your drink at all times.
  • If something seems strange or feels uncomfortable, listen to your gut.
  • Ask questions rather than trying to rationalize strange behavior.
  • It’s ok to leave early. Politely say that you have to go and leave money for your drinks.

Nerves & anxiety

  • Your date likely wants to impress too, so they’re probably just as nervous.
  • Put yourself first! See the date as a chance to gauge how you feel around the other person, rather than the most important thing being impressing them.
  • Embrace a little silence. No need to worry about the occasional quiet moment. They happen and often reveal way more about how compatible you are.

Matches are the people you liked and who voted 'Yes' for you too. You can visit their profiles directly from your messages section, start chatting and make friends. How can I change my profile photo?

To change your profile photo, open your profile page and tap on the edit icon in the top right corner . Then tap on the photo you wish to use a profile photo, tap on in the bottom right corner and select Make default to confirm your choice.

What are points and how do I earn them?

In order to get points you either need to translate or vote on a phrase. You can earn one point for adding a new translation or voting on five phrases. The more points you earn the more likely you'll appear in our 'Spotlight' service among the top translators so stay active!

My app isn't working, what should I do?

If you’re experiencing a technical issue with the app, we recommend trying these troubleshooting steps first to help get you back up and buzzin’.

  1. Sign out of Bumble (if you can)
  2. Delete the Bumble app (not your account/profile)
  3. Clear your web browser's cookies and cache from your device Settings
  4. Redownload the Bumble app and sign back in

iPhone:

  1. Go to your device Settings
  2. Scroll down and tap on “Safari”

How do I filter my search?

On Bumble, all users have the option to filter their search by age, gender, and distance. Premium subscribers have the option to further narrow their search using Advanced Filters. 

With Advanced Filters, you can search to find your perfect match who exercises occasionally and doesn’t smoke or, if you’re looking for an intellectual Gemini, you can also sort by education level and star sign! No matter your preferences, there are several Advanced Filters that will enable you to find exactly who you’re looking for. 

To set filters on the app:

  • Tap on the Hive icon in the bottom center of your screen
  • Tap on the filter icon in the top right corner. There you’ll see the options to filter by gender and distance
  • You can then scroll to the bottom and tap on “Set Advanced Filters” to add your further preferences

To set filters on Bumble web:

  • Click on your profile photo in the top left corner. A menu will appear underneath your profile photo
  • Click on “Settings.” On the next screen, you’ll be presented with the options to filter by gender and distance
  • Click on “Advanced Filters” to choose your further preferences 

Please note, the distance filter is not available in a few countries as the Hive continues to grow. 

How can I add someone to my Favourites?

How does a Chappy Premium subscription work?

Chappy Premium is subscription-based, which means that the service renews automatically. You can buy Chappy Premium for various periods of time. You can manage your Chappy Premium subscription by going to Payment settings in the Settings menu.

How can I view older messages?

You can find conversations with a particular user by typing their name in the search bar in Messages. If you don't remember the exact nickname that person had, you can just scroll through older conversations on the left side of the messenger window. However, please keep in mind that it is not possible to recover deleted conversations.

How do I get Verified status?

Getting Verified status helps prove to other users that you’re a real person, making it easier to find new friends. To get Verified, all you need to do is go to the Verification on your profile, verify your profile with a photo of yourself.

How can I delete my data?

Have you found your perfect match or decided to give dating a break for a while? You can delete your profile from the app by following these steps. This will remove your profile from Bumble publicly so it will no longer be visible to other people. If you change your mind you have 28 days to contact our team and we can reactivate your profile for you. After 28 days you will no longer be able to regain access to your deleted account because your information will have begun to be purged from our system. 

 If you wish to begin the erasure process straight away, you have the right to request for your data to be erased by submitting a Data Erasure Request with our team. Once you’ve submitted this request, the process can take up to 30 days for completion. 

Please note, if your Bumble profile has been blocked, we are required to retain basic account data to enforce such blocks. A limited amount of information will therefore be retained to enforce the block. We also retain data where we are required to do so for legal or regulatory reasons. This is in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and with The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) if you are a resident of California, United States.

How can I cancel my subscription via Bumble Web?

If you subscribed to Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium via credit card or PayPal through Bumble Web you will need to follow these steps to unsubscribe: 

  • Click on your profile photo at the top left-hand corner of the screen
  • Navigate to “Manage your Boost” in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen 
  • Here will you be able to cancel your Bumble Boost subscription 
  • You will still be able to use your subscription up until its current expiration date.

Why has my match/message disappeared?

If you are having trouble locating a conversation it could be that your match has deleted their account, has been blocked on Bumble or has decided to unmatch you for now. In each of these cases, rather than this conversation disappearing entirely, it will now appear at the bottom of your conversation list. 

Importantly, this means you can still report the person to Bumble if something has happened and you need support from us. All you need to do is tap the “Help” button after clicking on the match in the conversation list. Unfortunately Auto Top-up is not currently available on iPhone via iTunes, however if you purchased credits via another payment method you can manage the Auto Top-up feature by logging in via the website in the 'Payment settings' section.

If you see an inappropriate picture outside Encounters please report this to us by clicking on the icon in the top right corner on the profile page of the person, select 'Block or report' and choose the reason.

People don’t message me first


Not everyone is able to make the first move on Bumble. We’re really proud of this, but we understand it can be frustrating for people waiting for a first message that doesn’t come.

Here are 3 common reasons why your match might not message first, and more importantly, why you shouldn’t take it personally if they don’t.

Life happens

Lots of people are balancing their dating lives with a busy work schedule, making time for friends, hobbies, and other important things.

It could easily be that your match just wasn’t in a good place to start a meaningful chat this time.

They have notifications turned off

It’s common for people to turn off notifications not just from Bumble, but from most apps on their phone. 

So don’t assume your match actively decided not to message you. Maybe they just didn’t see you in time!

Openers are hard

Sending a first message is hard. Some people may not know what to say, others may get anxious. Keep this in mind and stay empathetic when using Bumble.

The best thing you can do is to make your profile pop and try to give your matches plenty of information to start a conversation with. 

IRL dating during Covid


Meeting up is risky right now, so consider a Video Call instead. At least for the time being.

If you do still decide to move things up a gear and meet IRL, here are some steps to help you stay responsible.

Have the Covid chat

Be open and frank with each other. Talk honestly about what you’ve both been up to (Bumble’s Dating 101 can help you navigate this conversation), who you’ve been seeing, and what kind of dates you’re comfortable with.

It’s ok to make risky behaviour a dealbreaker, but if you’re both on the same page with exposure and comfort levels, that’s a green light to move ahead with planning a date.

Choose a spot

Meeting is risky, no matter how much you prepare. But some dates are obviously riskier than others. If you can, try to meet outdoors or at an indoor spot that is big, spacious, and airy.

Agree to a place you’re both comfortable with. Don’t feel pressured into stretching your own boundaries just to please your date. And of course, respect their boundaries as well.

Why was I blocked from Bumble?

If your profile has been blocked it is because you’ve violated our Community Guidelines. The safety of our users is top priority, so we don’t tolerate misuse of our platform. To ensure each member of our community is treated with kindness and respect, everyone’s expected to adhere to our guidelines--both on and off Bumble.

As a friendly reminder, here are some examples of what will get you blocked on Bumble:

  • Commercial activity

All commercial activity is prohibited on Bumble. Commercial activity includes, but is not limited to: seeking financial support, transactional activity, recruiting or soliciting for adult entertainment, or selling/promoting any goods or services (which includes sharing links or usernames to any subscription-based services such as OnlyFans, ManyVids, Patreon, etc).

If it’s against the law, don’t do it.

  • Deleting and recreating your account repeatedly

Recreating your account multiple times can negatively impact you and the users around you. For that reason, we encourage you to keep the same account for as long as possible. If you’d like to take a break from the app, we recommend using Snooze mode.

If you believe your profile has been blocked incorrectly, you’re welcome to reach out to our Support Team.

Note: We don’t allow our users to circumnavigate permanent blocks by creating new accounts. Once your profile has been blocked, you are no longer permitted to use Bumble. Period.

How I can add someone to my Favourites?

To add a user to your favourites just visit their profile, click on the icon in the top right corner. If there's no star icon, just click on the icon and select 'Add to favourites'.

If you have already started a conversation with the user you can go to your 'Messages' section and click on the star icon next to the users's name.

Why should I photo verify?

As we’re hoping you know by now, honesty is our thing. Part of that means making sure everyone on Chappy is who they say they are. After all, why pretend to be someone else when you have so much going for you?

To help us do that, we ask you to verify yourself. It’s not difficult – all you need is a couple of minutes and the camera on your phone or computer to take the photo. And don’t worry, we’ll never share your photo on your profile or anywhere else.

How can I request my data or retrieve past conversations?

Looking for your account information or conversations with a past Bumble match? You have the right to access your data via a Subject Access Request.

There are several different ways to request your data, but the fastest option is to submit your request via our contact form.

If you’re specifically requesting a copy of your conversation with a match--for example, because you’re a happy success story 😊 --both you and your connection will need to submit separate requests in order to receive each side of your conversation.

Please note, we may not be able to retrieve your data if your Bumble profile has been deleted for longer than 28 days. In addition, requests can take up to 30 days to process so we appreciate your patience while our team handles your request.

How can I buy Chappy Premium?

I canceled my subscription but I'm still getting charged?

If you’ve been charged after canceling your Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium subscription, it’s likely that it wasn’t canceled correctly. We’d recommend checking to see if your subscription is still accidentally active by following the below steps relevant to you:

How do I end a Night in?

You can end the Night In by tapping the "hang up" icon.

This will end both the game and the video chat and you will be taken back to the normal chat screen between you and your match. 

You can end the trivia game, by tapping "end game" but you will stay on the video chat. You can then end the video chat by tapping the ‘hang up’ icon.

What happens at the end of the game?

You’ll be shown your final score and then you have either the option to keep talking via video for as long as you’d like or end the date by tapping the "hang up" icon. It’s up to you!

I’ve received an unsolicited lewd photo, what should I do? (Texas)

The following article applies only to our users based in Texas or those who need to report a Texas resident. If you’re not in Texas, don’t worry, we’ve still got your back! Please click here for more information.

At Bumble we have always been committed to keeping our users safe by making the Hive a place where consent is not an option, it’s a rule. In 2018 we felt we needed to take this passion offline and fought to pass House Bill 2789 in our home state of Texas which classifies the sending of unsolicited lewd photos as a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $500. As of September 1st, 2019 this bill will become law in Texas.

Under the law, a photo is classified as lewd if a person’s intimate parts are exposed, a person is engaging in sexual conduct, or if it shows the covered genitals of a male in a discernibly turgid state. If this has happened to you there are several options available.

I’ve received an unsolicited lewd photo and want to pursue legal action.
For any legal action to be taken the user must report the offense to local law enforcement via their non-emergency line within two years of receiving the photo.

Please note that Bumble is not responsible for and will not report any lewd photos to the authorities ourselves. However, users can also report the offense on Bumble via our in-app Block & Report feature or contact us. Our team will investigate the case and take appropriate action in line with our Guidelines. This does not take the place of reporting the offense to the authorities.

I've forgotten my password. What do I do?

If you've forgotten your password, just open the app, select Sign in on the home page, then tap on Forgot password? and follow the instructions to reset your password.

How do I request a match to Photo Verify?

If you’re a verified user you can ask your match to verify their profile to ensure that they’re the real deal. Here’s how:

  1. Tap on the “Send my request” text at the bottom of the chat screen as either your First Move or first response.
  2. Your match will then have up to 24 hours to verify their profile.
  3. If your match chooses not to verify, runs out of time, or fails verification, the conversation will stop and you will not be able to continue talking.

If your profile is not photo verified, you will be prompted to verify your profile first--it’s only fair after all. It should only take a member of our team a few seconds to view and verify your photo so you don’t have to worry about this holding up your connection!

I got a new phone number and can't log in anymore?

If your phone number has changed, it’s important to update it within the app as soon as possible to ensure your data stays private. Phone companies frequently recycle unused phone numbers and if your old number is assigned to someone new, they could access your data.

If you added a secondary login method to your account (for example, Facebook or Apple ID), you’ll be able to log in even if your phone number has changed. Select the secondary login method when signing in and you’ll be able to access your account. As soon as you are logged in, follow these steps to update your phone number:

1. Go to Settings (the grey gear icon in the top right corner)

2. Scroll down and tap on "Security & Privacy"

3. Tap on “Login methods”

4. Choose the option to edit the registered phone number to be your new one.

Why can't I start a conversation with somebody I've swiped right on?

After two users have mutually right-swiped one another, a match is created. After a match is created, you'll see a notification appear on your screen. From here, you can either start a chat or continue swiping through other profiles.

After a match has been created, what follows depends on the user’s gender.

On Bumble, women always make the first move. If she doesn't initiate a conversation within 24 hours, the connection expires.

Men cannot initiate a conversation with women. However, they can show that they're especially interested in her by using the daily 24-hour extend feature.

Bumble was designed to counter problematic and antiquated hetero dating norms, so the above rules do not apply to same-gender matches or to connections made in Bumble BFF. In these cases, either person has 24 hours to make the first move before the connection expires.

If you're experiencing any problems on Chappy, it's possible that this is being caused by a temporary issue on the site. Please try the following steps in attempt to resolve the problem:

1. Restart your phone's web browser

2. Sign out and then back into your account

3. Check your connection is working by visiting a website, for example Google.com

If you are still experiencing an issue, please clear your mobile browser's stored information:

1. To clear stored data on iOS, please go to settings > Safari and clear the data

2. To clear stored data on Android, please tap on apps > Internet > touch the ‘Menu' option > Settings > Privacy > Security and clear the data

3. Lastly, please try restarting your device.

If you're still experiencing an issue, please ensure private browsing mode is disabled; instructions on how to do this on your device can be found on the manufacturer's website.

It’s frustrating when you’re not happy with the number of matches you’re getting. But good news! There’s lots you can do to improve your chances.

Make your bio pop

A great bio is possibly the best thing you can do for your profile. Our hot tip? Don’t make it too long. Bumble data shows a short and punchy bio is the best way to go.

Say what you’re looking for (if you know), your interests and maybe a fun fact about yourself. Give potential matches plenty of ‘hooks’ they can start a conversation with.

Verify yourself

Use our Photo Verification feature so people know you’re real. It’s easy, and gives potential matches early reassurance that they’re not wasting their time.

Other parts of your profile also help with this. Filling in your work and education, and linking your Instagram or Spotify are great ways to show you’re a real, interesting person.

Get time savvy

There’s no bad time to use Bumble, but there is a best time, when more people are online and more matches happen.

If you’re aged between 18 and 22, the best time to use Bumble is 7-10pm. If you’re 23 or over, try slightly earlier between 6 and 9pm.

What is Invisible mode?

Invisible mode
is a premium feature that lets you browse Chappy without anyone knowing who you are. You can enable the invisible mode by going your settings and selecting Invisible mode. Please note that you need to activate Chappy Premium to be able to use this feature.

How can I delete a photo sent via chat?

If you are using the mobile app it is not possible to delete a photo sent via chat. You can however delete it by using your desktop browser. Please access your profile on your desktop browser and hover over the photo, tap on the bin icon and click on Delete.

How do I activate Auto Top-up?

To activate Auto Top-up, go to your profile , open 'Settings', click 'Account preferences', then 'Payment settings' and switch on Auto Top-up.

Will deleting my message delete my match as well?

As soon as you delete a message thread with a user, you also delete the match with the user. You will only be able to contact this user again if they message you after you delete the thread from your side.

Why did my Beeline decrease when I purchased Bumble Premium?

We get it -- it can definitely be confusing when your Beeline number decreases after purchasing Bumble Premium. The good news is all of those bees are still there waiting to meet you! Before purchasing Bumble Premium, your filters aren’t applied to the Beeline but once you’ve purchased, the filters you have set are then automatically applied.

This means your age and distance preferences and any Advanced Filters that you have set will filter out users in your Beeline. All you have to do is relax those filters (don’t worry -- you can reapply them at any point) and your Admirers will appear in your Beeline again.

Your Beeline works this way so you don’t miss out on meeting a potential match. We want you to have the opportunity to match with all bees that express an interest in you.

How can I reactivate my deleted profile?

First thing’s first: welcome back!

If you deleted your profile less than 28 days ago, you should have a confirmation email from us that includes a reactivation link. Click that and you’ll be able to jump right back in.

If it’s been longer, you’ll need to create a new profile – a good excuse to switch things up and try a different approach, maybe?

Confused about Admirer vs. match notification?

Receiving a notification that someone has liked your profile means you’re on the path to making meaningful connections! This notification is sent when someone has swiped right on your profile but doesn’t mean you have a new match waiting. A match is created once both users have mutually swiped right on each other.

If you’re subscribed to Bumble Premium, you’ll be able to view the Admirer in your Beeline. If you’re having trouble locating the new Admirer, try removing any Advanced Filters and expanding your distance and age filters to introduce them into your Beeline.

If you’re not subscribed to Bumble Premium, you will still have the opportunity to connect with the Admirer as you’re swiping. We recommend taking your time to view each profile and have an open mind when swiping. We don’t want you to miss out on a potential match!

If you’re having trouble making a match, try relaxing your filters. It’s possible you’re not seeing the Admirer because they don’t fit within your search preferences.

How can I reactivate my deleted profile?

If it’s been longer, you’ll need to create a new profile – a good excuse to switch things up and try a different approach, maybe?

How do I cancel my Chappy Premium subscription?

You will be able to cancel your Chappy Premium subscription by going to your 'Payment settings' in the Settings menu. If you subscribed to Chappy Premium via SMS, please follow the instructions you were given when you subscribed. Please contact our Customer Care team if you have any problem by going to Feedback in the Settings menu.

How can I unfavorite someone?

To unfavorite someone simply visit their profile, click on the icon in the top right corner and select 'Remove from favourites'.

If you already had a conversation with the user you can go to your 'Messages' section and click on the star icon next to the users's name. It will turn white, which means the user is no longer one of your favourites.

Why should I photo verify?

As we’re hoping you know by now, honesty is our thing. Part of that means making sure everyone on Chappy is who they say they are. After all, why pretend to be someone else when you have so much going for you?

To help us do that, we ask you to verify yourself. It’s not difficult – all you need is a couple of minutes and the camera on your phone or computer to take the photo. And don’t worry, we’ll never share your photo on your profile or anywhere else.

What happens on a Night In?

Starting the video date

After you’ve planned a Night In with your match, you’ll both start the date by tapping the "Night In" icon located at the top header of your chat screen. You’ll be taken to a holding screen where you can check yourself out on the video feed before you start the date. The date will start when you’ve both tapped "start the date."

Starting the trivia game

Once you’re on the date, you can start the trivia game at any time by tapping "Play Game." You’ll be shown a "How to Play" screen. When you’ve both tapped "Let’s do this" the first round will start. 

How does the trivia game work?

The trivia game is made up of 3 rounds of 5 questions each. You must both tap the same answer - so talk to each other and see what your match thinks! You’ll then be shown whether you got the correct answer or not, and the next question will appear. At the end of the round you will be shown your score for that round. 

Do we play against other people?

Your Night In is just between the two of you. You’re playing together to answer trivia questions, but it’s not really about the points. It’s about helping start the conversation and seeing if there’s a spark when you work together. 

What kind of trivia questions will there be?

The trivia game consists of general knowledge questions designed to spark conversation between you and your match. 

How many times can I play?

As many times as you like! When you finish a trivia game you can start a new one with your date if you want to by selecting ‘Play Game’ again from your video chat screen. New questions are added regularly, so if you run out of new games, check back soon for more.

What do the coloured dots next to a users name mean?

Coloured dots inside your connections menu indicate the online status of the user. Green dot means that the person is now online, and orange dot means the person was online recently.

You can't change your profile status from green to orange yourself as this happens automatically, but you are able to turn off your online status in 'Privacy'.

What are Profile Qs?

If you want your matches to know more about you, you can answer three questions which we’ll display on your profile.

Other users will be able to see it when they swipe on you, so they can get to know you straight away- they could find out that pineapple on pizza is a big no-no for you for example!

Chappy is all about making meaningful connections with people you meet, so we’ve created icebreakers to do just that- break the ice.

If you’d like to add these to your profile, follow these easy steps:

  • Select the “Edit” pencil icon in the top right corner of your profile
  • Tap “Profile Qs” under the “About You” section
  • Choose the answers you like to your favourite questions- or create your own unique answers for extra flavour!

If you don’t like the answers you chose, or you just want to change them up, just tap on your answers in the “Profile Qs” section and update them.

Are there any rules?

Also, any content you upload to your Chappy profile must comply with our terms and conditions and not break copyright rules. If you upload pornographic, violent or otherwise offensive material, we’ll delete it and we may ban you from Chappy.

I've forgotten my password. What do I do?

No need to panic! Simply tap on Already have an account? on the home screen and then on Forgot login or password? at the bottom of the page. Enter the same contact details that you used to create your profile, and follow the on screen instructions to reset your password.

All of my conversations have disappeared!

There are a couple of different reasons that your conversations may not be appearing. 

If your conversations disappeared after logging back into your account, it’s possible that you accidentally created a duplicate profile. Try logging out and logging back in with the method you originally used to create your account. If you did create a duplicate profile, all of your conversations will reappear as soon as you’re back in the correct account.

Your conversations could’ve also disappeared because you disabled Date mode. When Date mode is disabled, all of your matches and conversations are removed from your account. Unfortunately, conversations can’t be restored once Date mode has been disabled.  However, you’ll still be able to start fresh and make new matches if you enable Date mode again.

How can I unfavorite someone?

To unfavourite someone, open your Connections folder and tap on the coloured star icon next to that person's name. It will no longer be filled in with colour, which means the person is no longer a favourite.

How can I buy Chappy Premium with a credit card or Paypal?

To buy Chappy Premium using a credit card or PayPal, tap the Chappy Premium icon on your profile and you can then select either credit card or PayPal and the package that suits you best.

Where can I find my matches?

Your matches are the people who voted ‘Yes’ for you and who you liked too in Encounters. You can access their profiles directly from Messages to start chatting and make friends. So that you're able to differentiate between matches and messages from users you have not matched with yet, matches will have a heart icon on them .

How can I report a fake profile?

If someone created a profile with your details, please send us a link to fake profile via Feedback form.

Chappy isn't working, what should I do?

If you're experiencing any problems on Chappy, it's possible that this is being caused by a temporary issue on the app. Please try the following steps in attempt to resolve the problem:

1. Make sure that you're using the most recent version of the app. If not, then you'll need to update this version.

2. If you’re using the most recent version, then please check your internet connection. To check this, please visit www.Chappy.com via your device’s internet app.

3. Try restarting the Chappy app. To do this, close the app and then re-launch it. This will not sign you out, but start a new session.

4. Try deleting the Chappy app and then re-installing it. To re-install it after deleting it, please visit your device’s app store.

5. Please try restarting the device if none of the above work.

How can I use Spotlight?

Our Spotlight service is a fantastic way to be instantly seen by thousands of people in your area. If you're looking to meet new people and gain attention, this is the perfect way to do it!

You can easily use Spotlight by opening your app and tapping on at the bottom of the screen. This will take you to the Connections menu and in the top left corner, you will find your photo. Tap on it and start being seen by millions!

BFF & Bizz

If you're feeling burnout from dating, consider a different kind of meaningful connection through friendship or business.  

Bumble BFF is a simple, fun way to meet new friends and build a supportive community around you, no matter where or who you are.

Bumble Bizz is for professionals to connect, share, and learn, because networking shouldn’t feel hard or uncomfortable.

You can switch to BFF or Bizz modes via your Settings by tapping "Choose mode." This way, all of your connections and chats in Date mode will remain.

But be careful. If you turn off Date mode completely, you’ll lose all of your connections and chats and this can’t be undone.

Why does no one answer my messages?

If you are not sure why people aren't getting back to you, it might be due to the content of your message and therefore it may be beneficial to try another approach.

Try to be more creative and use something that will catch a user's attention. For example, rather than copying and pasting the same message to everyone you like, read their profile first, see what their interests are and send an appropriate message.

Additionally, don't forget to add pictures of yourself of the best possible quality.

Is Facebook the only way to sign up?

Nope! If you're a new user, you'll be able to register and log in with either your phone number, Facebook account, or Apple ID.

We suggest using Facebook to help build your profile by importing your name, age, etc. This speeds up the sign-up process as well as ensuring the information on your profile is genuine and reliable. But, of course, chose the method that works best for you.

You can now add multiple login methods to your profile for added security. 

How can I cancel my Chappy Premium subscription made via iTunes?

To cancel your Chappy Premium subscription made via iTunes, go to the settings of your iPhone or iPad, choose 'iTunes and App Store', then tap your Apple ID and 'View Apple ID'. Enter your password, scroll down to subscriptions and tap 'Manage'. On the Chappy Premium screen turn off Auto Renew.

How can I rotate my photos?

It is currently not possible to rotate your photos in the Chappy app. Please rotate your photo using your iPhone before uploading.

How can I buy Chappy Premium through SMS?

Click "Activate" on your profile page, choose SMS as a payment method and follow the instructions. We'll send you an SMS and you'll need to confirm that you want to activate a subscription.

Once you confirm, you'll get an SMS each time your subscription renews. You can cancel your Chappy Premium at any time by following the instructions in the SMS confirming that you subscribed or that your subscription is renewing. Please feel free to contact our Customer Care Team if you need any help with your subscription.

How can I rotate my pictures?

Unfortunately you cannot rotate your photos at the moment therefore please rotate your photos before uploading them to your profile.

How can I change my notification settings?

To edit which notifications you wish to receive from the app:

  1. Tap the user icon at the bottom left of the app
  2. Tap the gear icon to open your Settings
  3. Scroll down and tap Notification Settings

To change your notification settings on Bumble Web:

  1. Click your profile image in the top left of the screen
  2. Click Settings
  3. Scroll down and Select Notification Settings

Here, you can customize what type of push or email notifications you’re interested in by tapping into each category listed and tapping the yellow toggle button on or off.

How do I sign in using Google, Facebook or MSN?

On the Sign in page, click the Google, Facebook or MSN link on the right side and enter your login details. This section can also include other online services specific to your country.

How can I change 'I’m here to'?

To change your 'I’m here to' message, simply open your profile, scroll down to the section 'I'm here to' and click on the pencil icon to edit. Select if you want to 'Chat and meet new people', 'Date' or 'Date seriously', 'See what happens' or 'Make a long-term commitment'. Please click 'Save' after making your selection. If you'd like to also indicate the age and gender of the people you are interested in, please do so by clicking on the filter icon next to the Encounters section on the left side or in People Nearby in the top right corner.

How do I activate Auto Top-Up?

To activate Auto Top-up, you can simply go to your Settings, then to Payment settings and switch Auto Top-up on. Or you can turn it on straight away when buying credits with Credit Card or PayPal.

How do I sign up to translate?

If you have a Chappy account, you can simply sign in using your Chappy login details. Otherwise you can easily register using our Sign up form at http://translate.badoo.com/sig...

What's my translator profile? How does it work?

Your translator profile is where you see your translation history and score, and where you can edit your language and notification settings. In your profile page you can also see a Spotlight of our translators, so you can see who is helping out the most. Click on the picture of a translator you see in the Spotlight to see his translator profile. To access your translator profile, click on your picture on the top right hand side of the page.

What is Rise Up?

Rise Up is a great way to get noticed. It puts your profile at the top of search results for people in your area and when you're in first place you’ll get more views and messages.

You can activate it by selecting Rise Up on your Popularity page.

We've all forgotten a password or two, but don't worry it's easily solved. Click the Forgot your password? link on the Sign in page, and follow the instructions on the screen to reset your password.

How can I change Interface Language?

Open your profile page , go to Settings, tap on interface language and select your desired language preference.

How can I change my location?

In your profile, just click on next to your current location and either enter a new one or select one from the dropdown menu.

If you cannot see the when trying to change your location it is because of one of these reasons:

  • You are using the mobile app and the website at the same time and therefore your location will be automatically detected by the GPS of your mobile device and cannot be changed.
  • You don't use the app and your browser's location services are not providing us with accurate coordinates. Simply disable location services on your browser and you can then manually set your location on your profile.

Contact our Customer Care Team if you have issues with your location when using the mobile app.

How can I turn off Auto-Top up for credits?

If you want turn off Auto-Top up for your credits go to your profile, open your settings , go to your Payment Settings section and turn Auto-Top up off.

I think my Bumble account has been hacked

If you believe that someone else has signed into your Bumble account there are a few security precautions that we recommend.

If you sign in to Bumble with your Facebook profile we recommend that you update your Facebook password immediately.

Additionally, you can log out of any active sessions involving your Facebook profile by following these steps via Facebook.com

1. Go to your Security and Login Settings on Facebook

2. Select "Where You're Logged in"

3. Select the session you want to edit and click "End Activity."

If you sign into Bumble with your phone number we recommend changing your login method in the app. You can do this by following these steps:

1. Go to your app Settings 

2. Scroll down and tap on "Login methods"

3. Tap to add either your Facebook or Apple ID

Once you've finished linking that secondary login method, you'll be able to remove your registered phone number.

If you sign in to Bumble with your Apple ID we recommend that you update your Apple ID password immediately.

Why can't I see the Admirer I was notified about?

Can’t seem to find that Admirer we notified you about? This usually happens for one of the following reasons:

If you received an email from us about an Admirer, it’s possible that you could have swiped on this user already. We don’t want to flood your inbox with multiple emails, so we send them as a digest of the activity on your account within the past 24 hours. 

There may have been a change to either your or your Admirers’ search preferences since their swipe took place, which means the Admirer would no longer appear in your Beeline.

We recommend relaxing your Advanced Filters to check if your Admirer appears. If you’re still having trouble, contact us so we can check it out.

Scheduling a Night In

When can I schedule a Night In?

Once you’ve either sent an invite and it’s been accepted, or you’ve accepted an invite yourself, it’s time to plan when you’ll meet for your Night In. 

You can just spontaneously start a date with your match at any time.  If you’re both ready, you can join by tapping the "Night In" icon in the bottom right corner of your chat, or via a video chat if you’re already talking. 

How do I schedule a Night In?

Either:

1. Invite your match. If they accept, we’ll send you a confirmation message.

2. Accept an invite from one of your matches. We’ll send them a confirmation message.

Next, exchange messages with your match to agree on a time to meet between 6pm and 12am, either today or tomorrow (you can’t schedule a Night In further in advance).

The inviter (person who sent the invite) then uses the Night In scheduling tool to set the day and time.

You’ll both get a reminder when it’s time for your date.

How do I cancel a Night In before it starts? 

Go to your Night In home screen by opening the chat with your match then tapping the "Night In" icon in the bottom right. Then, tap "I can’t make it." We’ll let them know you cancelled. Remember to send them a message and let them know if you want to reschedule for another time!

Can I reschedule a Night In if I cancel it?

Yes, you can reschedule a Night In by re-inviting your match, then following the same scheduling process as before.

How large can my photos be, and what types of files can I upload?

We accept JPEG and PNG files. The file size limit is 128MB for photos, and their dimension must be at least 200 x 200 pixels.

Why is my verification photo rejected?

If your verification photo is rejected it might be due to the following reasons:
  • Your face is not clearly visible.
  • The entire gesture is not shown in the photo you take.
  • The photo is too dark, too light or too blurry.
  • The gesture doesn't match the gesture we showed you in our example.
Please contact our Customer Care Team if you are unable to pass the photo verification and none of the above reasons apply.

I've forgotten my password. What do I do?

If you've forgotten your password, just open the app, select Sign in on the home page, then tap on Forgot password? and follow the instructions to reset your password.

Why is my photo verification not working?

The most common reason why users aren’t able to verify their profile is that they’re not replicating the pose of the model in the example photo. Make sure you’re not just taking a selfie; instead copy the model’s hand gesture in the example photo. For example, the gesture could be to hold up two fingers, put your hand on your head, or hold your hand across your body.

Why do I need to confirm some of my information when I try to log in?

The security of our users is very important to us and therefore we might ask you to confirm some of your details. No need to worry as we will only ask you to confirm details that you added in the past.

  • If we call you then you'll be prompted to enter a number into a field on your screen; simply enter the last four digits of the number we're calling you from.
  • If we ask you to confirm your email address or phone number please do so. You don't need to have access to your email address or phone number as you only need to enter it.
  • If we're asking for your password but you do not remember it, just click on the 'Forgot Password' button and follow the instructions sent to your email.

If you have problems with confirming your details please contact our Customer Care Team and we will look into it for you.

How much does it cost?

Chappy is completely free to join! Joining lets you create a profile, upload photos, find new people in your area and chat to new people every day. If you want to get even more from your Chappy experience, you can boost your profile and meet even more people using our premium features, including Chappy Premium and our 'Spotlight' service.

Why have I been charged for a free trial?

We know there’s nothing more disappointing than getting charged for something you thought would be free. If you’ve signed up for a free Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium trial through the Apple Store and you were charged immediately, it’s likely because you’ve already had a free trial on a previous Bumble account. 

We’d recommend reaching out to Apple to see what has happened by following these steps below: 

1. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com/

2. Select "Billing & Subscriptions"

3. Select "Subscriptions & Purchases"

4. Select "The topic is not listed"

5. In the text box write "n/a" and click "Continue"

6. Select the "Chat" option

Please note that if you sign up for a free trial, a subscription will automatically renew on your account once the free trial period expires. This information is presented to you along with our Terms and Conditions upon signing up. 

If you've signed up for a free trial on Bumble through the Apple Store previously, you will not be eligible for another free trial and will then be automatically signed up to a subscription. 

What is Apple Sign-In?

Apple Sign-In allows you to create and log into your Bumble profile using your Apple ID. To choose this method, follow these steps:

  1. Tap ‘Continue with Apple’ on the sign-in screen
  2. Confirm using your preferred method (e.g. Face ID)
  3. Set up your Bumble profile or if you’re returning start swiping!

Please note, you can now add multiple login methods to your account to make it easier to log back in.

How can I buy Chappy Premium through SMS?

To buy Chappy Premium via SMS, tap the Chappy Premium icon on your profile page, choose the payment method Mobile phone bill and the correct package will already be selected. You can cancel your subscription at any time by following the instructions in your activation or renewal text message. Just send us a message and our Customer Care team will be happy to help should you need any assistance.

How can I report a stolen photo?

If your photo is being used without your consent and you’re not a Chappy member, please contact us and send us a link to the account that is using your photo.

Please go to your settings and click on the pencil icon next to 'Your basic info'. Enter a new name and click 'Save' to confirm the change.

Credits are used to activate some of our great premium services on Chappy. You can purchase credits by tapping the credits balance on your profile page. Once you've done this, select your preferred method of payment, the amount of credits you would like and follow the instructions on the screen.

How can I buy Chappy Premium on the Chappy Mobile website?

Go to your profile page and select Chappy Premium, then follow the instructions on screen.

How does Chappy work?

Chappy is designed to be as intuitive as possible, but don't worry, we know that you might need a little help when learning your way round!

When you sign up for the first time please make sure that you add a good photo of yourself and write a little bit about you to show other users who you are.

As soon as you have created your profile you can check out Encounters , which is at the very heart of Chappy. Simply vote Yes and No for other members and should both of you like each other you will have a match and you can start chatting ! Make sure that you have the correct settings for your 'I'm here to'.

People Nearby is the section where you can browse users in your city or region.

How can I sign out?

So you want to sign out? Old school, we respect that. It’s easy to do:

  1. Open your profile page
  2. Tap on Settings and Account
  3. Tap on Sign out

If you can’t see any of those options, it just means you need to create a password first so that you can get back in later. Tap Get password to set one up, and you’ll be able to sign out as soon as you’re done.

What is Bumble Web?

We aren’t saying you should swipe through the Hive from your desktop at work but we are saying that Bumble Web lets you log in or create an account right from your browser.

Bumble Web functions are very similar to the Bumble mobile app. Go to bumble.com to log in or create a profile using your Facebook account, Apple ID, or phone number. If you're an existing user you will be directed to the same profile you see on the mobile app. New users can set up their profile for any of our three modes on Bumble Web.

Here are some tips to help you navigate Bumble Web:

  • The arrow keys can be used to ‘swipe’ left or right as well as to scroll up or down to view a profile.
  • You can also click the checkmark to indicate swiping to the right or the ‘X’ for a left swipe.
  • You can click on the yellow star icon between the checkmark and the ‘X’  to SuperSwipe. 
  • If you match with someone, the Boom screen will pop up just like in the app. If you have First Move privileges, you can message from there or click into your Match Queue on the left to start a conversation with your matches.
  • You can video chat with a match by clicking on the grey video camera icon on the top right corner of the chat screen after you’ve exchanged at least one message.
  • If you have Bumble Premium or legacy Bumble Boost you can view your Beeline by clicking the users in the green circle to the left of the screen.
  • To switch modes between Date, BFF, and Bizz go to your settings and select the mode you want to use. 
  • To view your profile as it appears to others, go to “edit your profile” and select the preview button below your pictures. 
  • To report a user from your swipe queue, tap on the “Block & Report” button on the bottom left corner of the user’s profile.


I didn't get a confirmation email after I registered. What do I do?

If you've registered with an email and didn't get a confirmation email, you'll be prompted to complete your registration. To do this, select 'didn't get the email' to check Chappy's email confirmation page. You'll be able to check you entered the right email address or correct it if it’s wrong. If that doesn't work, check your email account’s spam folder in case our confirmation email ended up there by mistake. If you find the email in your spam folder, remember to mark it as ‘Not spam’.

You can also sign in to Chappy using Facebook Connect, Google, Yahoo or MSN.

What is the Crush feature?

Sending a Crush means that you can let other users know how much you like them by clicking the next to their photo in Encounters.

Sending a Crush to someone means that they will be able to check out your profile straight away, and you can use Credits to send Crushes to as many users as you like! Note that there is no Undo when sending a Crush.

How can I sign out?

Please open your profile and go to your settings in the top right corner and click on the pencil icon next to the section 'Your account'. Enter the new password, click on 'Save' and you will have to type in your current password and click 'Save' to confirm this.

What is Bumble Premium?

We are excited to introduce our new Bumble Premium subscription that will help maximize your experience and ultimately lead to more meaningful connections.

Bumble Premium includes:

  • Access to unlimited Advanced filters
  • Access to your Beeline so you can see your admirers
  • Travel mode which allows you to change your location to another city
  • Backtrack so you can undo left swipes
  • Ability to extend time on your current matches
  • Rematch with users who have expired. (Please note that in opposite-sex matches, men cannot rematch with a woman who hasn’t sent the first message)
  • Unlimited swipes
  • One Spotlight per week. This feature advances your profile to the top of the stack to be viewable by more people instantly for 30 minutes.
  • Five SuperSwipes per week. You can SuperSwipe a user's profile to show that you are really interested in them.

Spotlight and SuperSwipes expire and renew weekly, so make sure to use them! If you are signed up for our daily Bumble Premium subscription, SuperSwipe and Spotlight credits are not included. 

You can sign up to Bumble Premium by clicking on the pixelated square in your match queue or by clicking on the silhouette on the bottom-left corner of the app, and tapping on the Bumble Boost banner underneath your profile picture. You will also see options to sign up to Bumble Boost or purchase Spotlight credits as a one-time purchase.

How can I use Spotlight?

Our Spotlight service is a fantastic way to be instantly seen by thousands of people in your area. If you're looking to meet new people and gain attention, this is the perfect way to do it!

You can easily use Spotlight by opening your app and tapping on at the bottom of the screen. This will take you to the Connections menu and in the top left corner, you will find your photo. Tap on it and start being seen by millions!

Where can I see people that I bumped into?

Just open People Nearby and you'll see everyone that you've bumped into among the first results. You'll recognise them by a little pin on their photo.

Sending an Invite to Night In

How do I invite someone for a Night In?

You can invite any of your matches by opening the chat between you and your match, then tapping the "Night In" icon located in the top header. This opens up the Night In home screen where you can invite your match. We’ll also send you a prompt to suggest a Night In with the matches you’ve been exchanging a few messages with - you can send invites by tapping on these too.

We’ll let you know if your match accepts, then you can return to the Night In home screen to schedule a day and time for your date. 

What happens if they turn down my Night In invite?

If your match decides to turn your Night In invite down, we’ll let you know straight away. Remember, they might not be able to make it for any number of reasons.  They might be busy, too shy to meet face to face, or just not into trivia. Try not to take it personally. You can always message them to see if they want to do it some other time. We’ll encourage them to let you know why they declined the invite. If they’re just not interested, get out there and find someone who is!

What do the coloured dots next to a users name mean?

Coloured dots inside your connections menu indicate the online status of the user. Green dot means that the person is now online, and orange dot means the person was online recently.

You can't change your profile status from green to orange yourself as this happens automatically, but you are able to turn off your online status in 'Privacy'.

How can I send photos in chat?

If you would like to send a photo in chat to someone please follow the instructions below

  1. Tap on the Camera icon inside your conversation
  2. Choose where you would like to source your photo
  3. Select the photo you wish to send
  4. Tap on 'Send'

Why isn't my subscription not working?

(1) I don't see anyone in my Beeline (Legacy Boost or Bumble Premium only).

You may not have anything to see in your Beeline — yet! After signing up for Boost, your Admirers will start populating in real-time. Keep in mind that your Beeline will constantly be updating with your Admirers based on your search criteria.

It’s also possible that the users in your Beeline don’t fit the Advanced Filters you have set. Try removing your Advanced Filters to view all of your Admirers. 

(2) It's asking me to pay again.

Subscriptions are profile-specific. If you've deleted your account and created a new one, your subscription will not automatically transfer over to the new profile. Don't worry — our team can take care of this for you! Just reach out to the Support Team using our Contact Form and we'll take care of that right away.

(3) Where are my expired connections?

When you subscribe to Bumble Boost/Premium, you'll be able to rematch with your last five expired matches as well as any new expiring connections.


Why am I seeing people outside the filters I set on Bumble?

Are you finding that users are appearing in your swipe queue outside of the criteria you’ve set? This is likely because we’ve introduced a new feature to automatically relax your set filters to give you the ability to see users who are just outside of your preferences. For example, if you set your distance filter to show people who are a maximum of 5 miles away, you’d probably be thinking “I want someone who lives near me” and not necessarily “I want someone who is under exactly 5 miles away.” It’s possible your perfect match--who meets all your preferences--could be 6 miles away. We don’t want you to miss out on any potential matches! 

However, if you’d prefer to never see anyone outside of your preferences,  you do have the option to set certain traits as deal-breakers. To turn off us relaxing your filters:

1. From the swipe deck screen, tap on the preferences in the top right-hand corner.

2. Underneath each filter, you’ll be able to toggle off “See other people if I run out."

How can I delete a connection?

To delete a Message, Match, Visitor or Favourite, please open your connections menu and swipe from right to left on the person you wish to delete.

How can I set up my COVID preferences?

Dating during a pandemic can be extremely stressful. To help make you feel more comfortable and to normalize having conversations about such a tricky subject, we introduced COVID dating preferences. When you have this information filled out, your match will be able to see if you prefer to meet up virtually or IRL, and what your ideal first date would look like. Follow these steps to set up your COVID dating preferences:

1. Tap on the “grey silhouette icon” on the bottom left corner of your screen. 

2. Tap on the “COVID-19” tab underneath your profile photo. 

3. Tap on “COVID preferences.”

You will be able to view other users’ COVID dating preferences once you match by tapping on the shield icon next to their name within your conversation.

What are Payment settings?

Payment settings allow you to manage your payment method and Auto Top-up, check your credit balance, add credits and manage your Chappy Premium. Payment methods can include credit card, PayPal, Google Wallet and your mobile phone bill. Go to your profile page to open Settings, select Account Preferences and then Payment settings.

Why do I need to confirm some of my information when I try to log in?

The security of our users is very important to us and therefore we might ask you to confirm some of your details. No need to worry as we will only ask you to confirm details that you added in the past.

  • If we call you then you'll be prompted to enter a number into a field on your screen; simply enter the last four digits of the number we're calling you from.
  • If we ask you to confirm your email address or phone number please do so. You don't need to have access to your email address or phone number as you only need to enter it.
  • If we're asking for your password but you do not remember it, just click on the 'Forgot Password' button and follow the instructions sent to your email.

How much does it cost?

Chappy is completely free to join! Joining lets you create a profile, upload photos, find new people in your area and chat to new people every day. If you want to get even more from your Chappy experience, you can boost your profile and meet even more people using our premium features, including Chappy Premium and our 'Spotlight' service.

Why am I getting the message 'Invalid phone number' when trying to verify my phone?

First please make sure that you are entering the correct phone number and country code. If you are still unable to verify your phone number, please contact our Customer Care Team and we will look into it for you.

How do I cancel my Chappy Premium subscription?

To cancel a Chappy Premium subscription bought via Google Play, launch the Google Play store on your phone, locate the Chappy app, and then tap Unsubscribe.

If you subscribed via credit card or PayPal, go to your profile page to open Settings, tap on Account Preferences, select Payment settings and deactivate your subscription in the Chappy Premium section.

To cancel an SMS subscription, follow the instructions in your initial subscription confirmation SMS message or any subscription-renewal SMS.

Can I use Apple Sign in with an existing account?

If you already have a Bumble account registered with another log in method (e.g. Facebook) but would like to begin using the Apple Sign-In option you can do so by following these steps:

  1. Log in using your original method (e.g. Facebook) using your mobile device
  2. Tap the silhouette on the bottom left corner of the screen
  3. Tap the gear in the upper left corner of the screen
  4. Tap “Login methods”
  5. Select the option to add your Apple ID

Once you’ve added your Apple ID you can maintain multiple login options or delete all but the one you wish to use.

Note: At this time you are only able to add additional log in methods via the mobile app.

Reminder: If you log in using a method that isn’t linked to your profile you may be presented with a blank profile. For more information check out this post.

How can I increase my daily contact limit?

We understand you may want to contact more Chappy users a day, so it's possible to extend your daily contact limit.

To increase your limit by more contacts a day, permanently, get Verified Status on your profile. Or if you want to increase your limit even more, you can use credits to chat to further people for the next 24 hours.

How can I change my gender?

Please go to your settings and click on the pencil icon next to 'Your basic info', select your correct gender and click 'Save' to confirm. Note that you can only change it once.

What does 'Get featured' mean?

Get featured  gets you seen instantly, as it promotes your photo so everyone in your area can see you. Click on 'Get more visits' on the bottom left on the page and follow the instructions.

How can I manage my online privacy?

At Chappy we take online security very seriously. We strongly advise that you never give out personal or financial information over the internet. We will never ask you for this information via Chappy messenger. If you have any concerns or questions about safety, please contact our Customer Care team. Just go to your profile, open Settings and select Feedback.

My language is not there. Why?

We have decided to limit the number of languages we ask people to help us translate to for the time being, since this is simply a beta version of the platform. However, stay tuned because we will soon add many more languages, so chances are yours will be one of them!

What is 'Request a Selfie' and how does it work?

'Request a Selfie' is a new feature on Chappy, which adds an extra layer of security for our users. Female users can now request a selfie from male users, so that they know who they are talking to!

When the male user initiates a chat with a female user, she will have the option to request a selfie. This request will show up in the conversation, and the male user will be directed to take a photo.

Male users need to ensure that they have allowed access to their webcam or phone camera. The selfie is only visible to the user that has requested it, and is not added to the male user's profile.

Only a few. First of all, play nice. We want you to feel comfortable and express yourself, but if other users complain that you’re rude, pushy or threatening, we’ll take it very seriously. 

Also, any content you upload to your Chappy profile must comply with our terms and conditions and not break copyright rules. If you upload pornographic, violent or otherwise offensive material, we’ll delete it and we may ban you from Chappy.

How do I cancel my Chappy Premium subscription?

To cancel your Chappy Premium subscription made via iTunes, go to the settings of your iPhone, choose 'iTunes & App Store', then tap your Apple ID and 'View Apple ID'. Enter your password, scroll down to subscriptions and tap 'Manage'. On the Chappy Premium screen turn off Auto Renew.

If you purchased Chappy Premium via Credit Card or PayPal visit the website and close the subscription via your payment settings. To cancel an SMS subscription, follow the instructions in your initial subscription confirmation SMS message or any subscription-renewal SMS.

How can I change my search criteria?

Open People Nearby . Once there, tap on the filter icon in the top right corner . Select what kind of people you're looking to meet and tap on a tick to apply your preferences. That's it!

On Bumble, your safety is important to us. Our Community Guidelines were created to ensure that everyone in the Hive upholds our values of kindness, respect, and equality. In addition to our guidelines, we are grateful for a strong community that helps hold each other accountable. We will never hesitate to take action when someone has broken the rules – we’ve got your back!

We will always be here to support you, however, we also believe that our users should feel empowered to exercise good judgment and take safety precautions when meeting new people. Here are a few tips from our team on how to stay safe when connecting on Bumble.

1. Be Cautious about Sharing Personal Information

Your phone number, home address, and any other private details about your life are all yours. Consider keeping them top secret until you feel confident that you can trust the person you’re chatting with. If you wouldn’t share this info with a stranger in real life, it’s probably best to hang onto it.

Safety can even start before the first message. Be aware that your profile can contain lots of personal information as well. If the information in your profile could be used to locate you, it might be worth omitting. For example:

  • It’s 100% okay to leave out specifics about where you work. We love seeing jobs listed as “Account Manager” at “Tech Company” or “Barista” at “Locally-owned shop.”
  • Do you love solo hikes at dusk? It may be safest to avoid posting a photo that shows you in a specific location you frequently visit. 

2. Never Share Financial Information or Transfer Money

Even after trust is established, there is never any reason to share your bank information. If someone asks for payment information (e.g., bank routing details, mother’s maiden name, credit card numbers), report it immediately.

3. Use Our Block/Report Feature

We have a team of moderators working around the clock to keep out spam, fake profiles, and anyone who violates our Community Guidelines. The best way to bring our attention to an account that sets off any red flags is to use our in-app reporting option. All reports are kept completely anonymous, so a reported user will never know who flagged their account.

If you ever miss the opportunity to report someone within the app (e.g., because you unmatched with the user or you deleted your account), it’s not too late! You can always make a report via our Contact Us button in the app, or by emailing us. Our dedicated and caring Support Team takes every report seriously and is always willing to help.

Not sure if what you experienced is worthy of a report? Trust your gut; if it doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. Our team of moderators will investigate and take appropriate action. Meeting new people shouldn't be scary, and a healthy dose of preparation can make all the difference in helping you feel at ease.

How can I change my password?

Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to change your password from our mobile application. If you wish to change your password, please do so from the Chappy website. If you're unable to access a desktop computer, please use the 'Forgot Password' feature to reset your password.

How do I plan a Night In?

Night In is a video date and trivia night rolled into one! Get to know your matches from the comfort and safety of your own home by working together to answer trivia questions as a team of two.

Where can I find a Night In?

1. The Night In icon  - open up a chat with one of your matches by tapping the icon which is located in the top header of the screen

2. Night In notifications - we’ll send you these to let you know when Night In is available and to guide you through planning your Night In.

3. Video chats - at any point during a video call on Bumble you could start a Night In with your match via the Night In icon. 

Where can I have a Night In? 

You and your match can meet for a Night In at any time. Either join spontaneously or schedule a day and time to meet later together. 

What if we’re in different time zones?

Night In is available 24/7 so all you need to do is find a time that works for you and your match! 

Is Night In available in my language?

Night In is currently available in English only, though we're working on expanding to more languages soon. We hope to offer support in Spanish and French over the coming months. 

How long does a Night In last?

The trivia element of Night In is made up of 3 rounds of 5 questions each - so the game lasts as long as it takes you to answer the questions. You can also take a break in between rounds to get to know your match more. The video chat can go as long as you like after the trivia game has finished. And you can end the game or the video chat whenever you want.

Which platforms is Night In available on?

You can join in on a Night In from Bumble's iOS and Android apps. Right now, it's not available on our website.

If you want to video chat with another user simply open the conversation and click on the video icon on the top right corner. Bear in mind that you need to have had a conversation with the user to be able to video chat with them.

How can I send photos in chat?

I've forgotten my password. What do I do?

Just click on the link Forgot Password? on the Sign In page and follow the simple instructions to reset it.

Why is my verification photo rejected?

If your verification photo is rejected it might be due to the following reasons:
  • Your face is not clearly visible.
  • The entire gesture is not shown in the photo you take.
  • The photo is too dark, too light or too blurry.
  • The gesture doesn't match the gesture we showed you in our example.
Please contact our Customer Care Team if you are unable to pass the photo verification and none of the above reasons apply.

How can I delete a connection?

To delete a Message, Match, Visitor or Favourite, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Open your connections menu
  2. Tap and hold on the connection you wish to delete
  3. Once the menu appears, tap on Delete

What does the blue or white tick next to a username mean?

The blue tick on a white background indicates that the person has verified their profile with at least two verification methods. If a user has a white tick on a blue background next to their name, this user has verified their profile with a photo and at least one other method.

How can I change my date of birth?

Please go to your settings and click on the pencil icon next to 'Your basic info', enter your correct date of birth and click 'Save' to confirm. Note that you can only change it once.

What is a Gift and how can I send one?

Gifts are virtual presents that you can send to someone to show that you like them. The gift appears on the user's Profile page and we have a wide selection of cool gifts you can choose from. If you want to send a gift, simply go to the user's profile page, scroll down to the section 'Gifts', tap on it and choose the gift you wish to send. You can select if you only want it to be visible for the user only and type a message. Please note that you need credits to send gifts to another user. If you don't have credits just tap on 'Send a gift' and it will lead you to the payment section.

When I log in my profile is blank. What’s happening?

Logging in to find your profile empty and all your connections missing can be jarring but don’t panic, there may be a simple fix that will get you up and buzzing ASAP!

We’ve found that frequently this issue is caused by simply choosing the wrong method at sign in. To see if this is the case give these steps a try:

Mobile:

  1. Select the profile avatar on the bottom left corner of the main screen.
  2. Select the grey gear in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and select “Log Out.”
  4. Log in using the opposite method you previously tried (e.g. if you used your phone number try logging in with Facebook).

Web:

  1. Click your profile image in the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Click “Log Out.”
  3. Log in using the opposite method you previously tried (e.g. if you used your phone number try logging in with Facebook).

Additionally, if you have recently updated your Facebook login information (the email you use to access Facebook) this may be causing the app to create a new profile rather than sending you to your original account. How can I buy Chappy Premium on the Android app?

Go to your profile page, select Chappy Premium and then follow the instructions on screen.

How do I cancel my Chappy Premium subscription?

Open your profile and click on the cog icon in the top right corner. Then, scroll down to the Payment Settings section and click on Unsubscribe. Your subscription will be cancelled at the end of the last payment period that you purchased.

To cancel an SMS subscription, follow the instructions in your initial subscription confirmation SMS, or any subscription renewal SMS.

What is Chappy Premium?

Chappy Premium is our paid service, giving you access to exclusive perks and features that make it easier to date the way that works for you. For example, you can see everyone who’s interested in you, or browse the app invisibly for some extra privacy.

If you're interested in Chappy Premium and you're using a Apple device, follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to your profile
  2. Tap on Chappy Premium
  3. Choose your preferred price plan and a notification will prompt you to finalise your purchase.

If you continue, the costs will automatically be charged to your iTunes account.

Can I add another log in method to my account?

We have now made it easier for you to log back into your Bumble account by giving you the ability to add multiple log-in methods. Not only does this mean you don’t have to remember what you used to originally create your account, but it will also add an additional layer of security in case one of your methods is ever compromised (e.g., your Facebook account). All you need to do to add a new login method is:

  • Head into your settings (the gear icon) and scroll down to “Security & Privacy”
  • To add your Facebook, phone number, or Apple ID, tap on “Login Methods”
  • To enable Face ID to log in, toggle on “Face ID” and verify your face when prompted on the screen. You’ll then see “All set! Face ID enabled” to confirm your changes have been saved. 

Once you’ve added an additional method you can maintain multiple login options or delete all but the one you wish to use. Please note that you will still need to have your Facebook, Apple ID, or phone number linked to your account in addition to adding Face or Touch ID. 

For existing Bumble users, we’ll remind you of the option to add additional login methods when you log out for the first time to make it easier to log back into your account. As for new users, you can take care of adding an additional login method when you’re creating your profile so you never have to worry about being unable to access your account!

What is Chappy Premium?

Chappy Premium helps you to meet people faster. By subscribing to Chappy Premium, you can take full advantage of all the extra features on offer such as access to your 'Liked You' folder, chat with popular users and much more!

What is 'Request a Selfie' and how does it work?

'Request a Selfie' is a new feature on Chappy, which adds an extra layer of security for our users. Female users can now request a selfie from male users, so that they know who they are talking to!

When the male user initiates a chat with a female user, she will have the option to request a selfie. This request will show up in the conversation, and the male user will be directed to take a photo.

Male users need to ensure that they have allowed access to their webcam or phone camera. The selfie is only visible to the user that has requested it, and is not added to the male user's profile.

What are the words I see in-between curly brackets, like {{gift}}?

Some translations contain bits of code such as {{gift}} that don't have to be translated. Just translate the rest of the sentence, and add these bits of code in a way that makes sense within the sentence. The system will automatically pull the correct translation of {{gift}} to add it to your sentence. Make sure you don't forget any bits of coding, or the system won't let you save your translation.

How can I sign up for a Bumble subscription on the Bumble app?

On your menu screen, you’ll see Bumble Boost, Bumble Premium, and our other paid features located underneath your profile photo. Here, you can click on the subscription you'd like to sign up for and choose your recurring subscription duration.

Alternatively, you can tap on the pixelated square in your match queue to view your Beeline. There you will see the option to subscribe to Bumble Boost.

Finally, you can click on one of the silver circles you see around the photos of your expired connections. These are the expired matches that you missed!

I'm having trouble buying Chappy Premium. What do I do?

Please contact our Customer Care team if you're having trouble buying Chappy Premium. To do this, just open your profile page, go to Settings and select Feedback.

Unmatch someone

Your safety comes first on Bumble. If something happens that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please report it.  However, if you’re just not feeling a connection, you also have the option to unmatch.

To unmatch another user, first, open your conversation with them.  Next, tap on the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner.  From here, tap “Unmatch.”

How can I change my location?

If your location services are switched on for the browser you are using to log in, then your location is automatically determined by your GPS and cannot be changed.

However if the location services are switched off for this browser, you can change your location manually. Just go to your profile page, tap on Edit profile, scroll down to location, tap on it and enter a new one. Don't forget to tap on Save to apply the changes.

What are Basic Info Badges?

Basic Info Badges are an easy way to share more about yourself on your Bumble profile without taking up space in your bio. We’ve found that the more information you have about yourself on your profile, the higher your chances are of making matches! Basic Info Badges are also used when setting Advanced Filters, so the more you add to your profile, the more likely you are to appear in other users’ searches and connect with users that share similar interests to you. 

Follow these simple steps to add Basic Info Badges:

1. Tap on the grey silhouette on the bottom-left corner of your Swipe Queue. 

2. Tap on "Complete my profile" under your picture to edit your profile.

3. Underneath your Basic Info, you will see the options for badges. 

4. Fill out as many as you can!

Basic Info Badges are different in each mode so you filter exactly what you’re looking for. Below are examples of a few badges currently available on Bumble.

How do I log out of Bumble?

To log out of Bumble follow the steps below.

If you are using the Bumble App:

  • Tap the grey silhouette icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen
  • Tap the gear icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen
  • Scroll down to the bottom and tap “Log out”

If you are using Bumble Web on a desktop browser:

  • Tap your profile photo in the top left-hand corner of the screen
  • In the menu bar, tap “Log out”

Note: When logging out you’ll now have the option to add new login methods to your account such as your Facebook, phone number, or Apple ID. This means the next time you log in you can then select any of these login methods to get back into your account.

How can I change my password?

Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to change your password from our mobile application. If you wish to change your password, please do so from the Chappy website. If you're unable to access a desktop computer, please use the 'Forgot Password' feature to reset your password.

How can I reactivate my deleted profile?

First thing’s first: welcome back!

If you deleted your profile less than 28 days ago, you should have a confirmation email from us that includes a reactivation link. Click that and you’ll be able to jump right back in.

If it’s been longer, you’ll need to create a new profile – a good excuse to switch things up and try a different approach, maybe?

1. Channel Your Inner Secret Agent

Some people might prefer to preserve a little mystery before a date, but it's always okay to do a little homework before meeting a new person in real life. 4. Meet in a Public Place

This isn't an 80s rom-com; we don't recommend having a date pick you up at your place or vice versa. It can be a lot of fun to pick a place you've both never been to before – that new food truck you've been meaning to try, the roller rink you pass every day on your commute – the possibilities are endless, and more importantly, safer. At a total loss for where to go? See if we have Bumble Spot in your area!

Meeting in a lively public place also means you can enlist the help of staff or other patrons if you need help. If something doesn't feel right, it's always ok to prioritize your safety. Want to slip away? You can ask a waiter to give your date a note. Need your match to give you space? Ask a bouncer to have them escorted out. Keeping yourself safe is more important than anything else.

5. Tell Someone You Trust

Whether it's your mom, your roommate, or your entire group text of BFFs – tell someone (1) where you're going, (2) who you're meeting, and (3) when you get home. If it makes you feel more comfortable, you can even send your person a screenshot of your date's profile for good measure. You can temporarily share your location (iPhone / Android) on your phone with your inner circle.

Meeting a new person shouldn't be scary, and a healthy dose of preparation can make all the difference in helping you feel at ease.

You can mark someone as a Favourite by tapping the star icon next to their name in the Connections folder. Once the star fills with colour, the user is a favourite.

Why do I need to confirm some of my information when I try to log in?

The security of our users is very important to us and therefore we might ask you to confirm some of your details. No need to worry as we will only ask you to confirm details that you added in the past.

  • If we call you then you'll be prompted to enter a number into a field on your screen; simply enter the last four digits of the number we're calling you from.
  • If we ask you to confirm your email address or phone number please do so. You don't need to have access to your email address or phone number as you only need to enter it.
  • If we're asking for your password but you do not remember it, just click on the 'Forgot Password' button and follow the instructions sent to your email.

How can I increase my daily contact limit?

We understand you may want to contact more Chappy users a day, so it's possible to extend your daily contact limit.

To increase your limit by more contacts a day, permanently, get Verified Status on your profile. Or if you want to increase your limit even more, you can use credits to chat to further people for the next 24 hours.

How can I change my location?

In your profile, just click on next to your current location and either enter a new one or select one from the dropdown menu.

If you cannot see the when trying to change your location it is because of one of these reasons:

  • You are using the mobile app and the website at the same time and therefore your location will be automatically detected by the GPS of your mobile device and cannot be changed.
  • You don't use the app and your browser's location services are not providing us with accurate coordinates. Simply disable location services on your browser and you can then manually set your location on your profile.

Contact our Customer Care Team if you have issues with your location when using the mobile app.

What does the blue or white tick next to a username mean?

The blue tick on a white background indicates that the person has verified their profile with at least two verification methods. If a user has a white tick on a blue background next to their name, this user has verified their profile with a photo and at least one other method.

No need to worry! If you need to add a social network account to your profile again we just want to ensure that you're the real owner of the profile. You only need to re-verify with a method you've already linked to your profile in the past. If you experience issues with this just contact our Customer Care Team and we will help you.

What is Invisible mode?

Invisible mode
is a premium feature that lets you browse Chappy without anyone knowing who you are. You can enable the invisible mode by going your settings and selecting Invisible mode. Please note that you need to activate Chappy Premium to be able to use this feature.

How can I appear more often in Encounters?

The more your photo is shown in Encounters, the more you’ll get seen by people who want to meet you. Go to your Popularity page, select Extra shows , choose a payment method and follow the instructions.

What is a Bundle pack?

When you use one of our premium services for credits (Rise up, Spotlight or Extra shows), you might be offered two more for the price of one!

Deciding to purchase three services at once for a discounted price is totally up to you; you can reject the offer when it is presented on the payment page if you're not interested.

I don't want to receive emails when new translations are needed. What do I do?

You can manage your notification settings in your translator profile. You can choose how often you want us to email you about new translations, or even decide you don't want to receive any notifications.

Question Game

Unsure how to start a conversation or make one a little more flirty? No worries. Question Game can help.

From any chat screen, tap the Question Game button on the right-hand-side of your text box and then shuffle through the questions until you find one you like or type your own.

You and your match both have to respond before either answer is revealed, and remember! The best results come from Question Game when you’re both open, honest, and cheeky.

Reporting after being unmatched

If you’ve been talking to someone and they unmatch you, you’ll still see their name in your connections but they’ll be grayed out and you won’t be able to see their photos or messages.

As well as giving our community some welcome closure to a sometimes unpleasant experience, this is also one of the ways we are keeping our community safe. 

If something happened before you were unmatched that made you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, you can still report it.  

To report someone after you’ve been unmatched, open the chat you had and tap either the button at the bottom of the screen or the 3 dots at the top to get help from Bumble. 


How do I connect my Spotify account to my profile?

To connect your Spotify account to add top artists to your Bumble profile:

  1. Tap the grey silouette in the bottom left corner of your screen
  2. Tap the "Complete my profile" in the circular photo in the center of the screen to open the profile editor
  3. Scroll down under Linked Accounts
  4. Tap the green bar that says "Connect your Spotify"
  5. You will be prompted to enter your login credentials for Spotify, tap "Login"
  6. If you are already logged in, you will be prompted to accept the Terms & Conditions of use.

If you don’t want all of your top artists to appear (though don’t you want to know if your match shares the same guilty pleasure tastes as you?), tap "Hide artist" under the circular artist photo.

How can I unfavorite someone?

To unfavourite someone, open your Connections folder and tap on the coloured star icon next to that person's name. It will no longer be filled in with colour, which means the person is no longer a favourite.

What does the blue cross on somebody's profile mean?

If you see a blue cross icon on someone's photo, it means that you have already said 'No' to that person on Encounters.

If you don't have credits just tap on 'Send a gift' and it will lead you to the payment section.

How can I change my name?

Please go to your settings and click on the pencil icon next to 'Your basic info'. Enter a new name and click 'Save' to confirm the change.

Consent on Bumble and IRL

Consent is required at all times. Everyone on Bumble is expected to discuss and respect boundaries. This includes never making assumptions about what someone is comfortable with.

On Bumble, we have a zero tolerance policy for unsolicited lewd photos. If your match hasn’t given clear consent by saying they want a nude photo (or anything that could be perceived as sexual content), don’t send it. Period. If you receive a photo you didn’t consent to, you can report it at any time.

In healthy partnerships, it’s important to both listen to the other person(s) and read their non-verbal queues. If they seem uncomfortable, unsure, or unable to consent, stop and don’t pursue anything further. Furthermore, remember that consent can always be withdrawn at any time.

If something happens on the app, via text, or in person, know that the entire Hive cares about you and wants to make sure you’re supported. Please know that you can get in touch with us and reach out to a resource in your area.

Why can I no longer change my password?

You no longer need a password to sign in and out of Bumble. If you created your account using your phone number, you will receive a confirmation code to your device instead of having to enter a password.

How can I change 'I'm here to'?

To change your 'I'm here to...' message, open your profile page, go to Settings and then to Filter. Select if you want to Make new friends, Chat or Date and tap on Save in the top right corner to apply changes.

What is Incognito mode?

Incognito Mode is a feature that is a part of our Bumble Premium subscription. It allows you to have more control over who can see your profile while swiping. If you activate Incognito mode you’ll be able to swipe privately by initially hiding your profile from other users and then only appearing for those whom you have swiped right on. 

Please note, Incognito mode is currently not available on Android for regions that do not have Bumble Premium as an option. We hope to have this feature available everywhere soon!

Microaggressions: When people's biases against marginalized groups present in a way that leaves you feeling uncomfortable or insulted.

Fetishization: A sexual fascination with things not inherently sexual. Fetishization of people because of race, gender, or sexuality can be harmful or dehumanizing.

We understand that everyone has their own way of dealing with these things.

Maybe you prefer to shut down a conversation immediately, or maybe you prefer to call someone out to explain why their behavior was harmful.

It’s important to know that either way is ok and there is no right or wrong.

If somebody behaves on the app in a way you’re not ok with and you’d like us to take care of it for you, use Block & Report or reach out to our team.

Otherwise, if you feel safe and decide to talk to your match yourself, these tips may help:

  • Try to understand whether their harmful behavior was intentional or not.
  • If intentional, end the chat - it’s not on you to change their values or beliefs.
  • If unintentional, know that the next step in talking about it isn’t to blame or shame.
  • Instead, calmly communicate the thing they did that was hurtful and explain why.
  • Wait and listen. You’ve done what you can, and you can’t control their reaction.
  • If they get defensive, it might be time to end the chat.
  • If they thank you for calling them out, great. Talk about it more or move on together!

How do I store my Chappy app on my Android's SD card?

To store your Chappy app on your Android's SD card:

1.Go to your Android's settings and open your application manager
2.Tap Chappy
3.Tap Move to SD card

Note: This feature is only available for Gingerbread Androids.

How do I connect my Instagram account to my profile?

To connect your Instagram feed to your Bumble profile:

  1. Tap the grey silhouette in the bottom left corner of your screen
  2. Tap the "Complete my profile" in the circular photo in the center of the screen to open the profile editor
  3. Scroll down under Linked Accounts
  4. Tap the red bar that says "Connect Your Instagram"
  5. You will be prompted to enter your login credentials for Instagram, tap "Login"

Why has my photo been moderated?

If your photo has been moderated it will most likely be due to one of the following reasons:

  1. You uploaded an erotic photo.
  2. You have uploaded a photo showing people under the age of 18.
  3. Your face is not visible enough for our preview window and thumbnail images. This will be due to the photo being too small, the image quality not being high enough or your face being difficult to see due to too many filters.
  4. Your photo contains a watermark.
  5. Your photo contains text.
  6. You have uploaded a photo of famous people.

What are Profile Prompts and how can I update them?

Letting your personality shine through on your profile is one of the fastest ways to make new meaningful connections. 

Profile prompts allow you to do just that! Not only are they offering your potential matches a closer look into your personality, profile prompts also help them break the ice and feel more comfortable about making the first move. 

You have the opportunity to choose from over 40 profile prompts that will help you showcase your personality and let users learn more about your hobbies and preferences before they choose to swipe! Here are some examples:

The quickest way to my heart is… through your sarcastic humor and your love for Harry Potter.

I quote too much from… The Office. Come at me with your best Dwight line. 

A non-negotiable… you’re a dog person. Now accepting any and all puppy photos!

Never have I ever… won my fantasy football league. Any insights for my first winning season would be appreciated!

 A tip from the experts: try adding in an inviting statement or question to make it easier on your matches who may be nervous to initiate a conversation.

You can add up to 3 prompts to your profile. To get there, follow the steps below:

1. Tap on the gray silhouette in the bottom left corner

2. Tap on “Edit Profile” underneath your profile picture

3. Tap on “Add a question”

If you need to update your answers or replace a prompt, just tap the "x" on the one you want to change.

What do the coloured dots next to a users name mean?

Coloured dots inside your connections menu indicate the online status of the user. Green dot means that the person is now online, and orange dot means the person was online recently.

You can't change your profile status from green to orange yourself as this happens automatically, but you are able to turn off your online status in 'Privacy'.

How can I add interests to my profile?

To add interests to your profile, please follow the instructions below:

1. Open your profile page
2. Tap the icon in the top right corner to edit your profile
3. Scroll down to 'Interests' and tap on 'Add your interests'

What does the blue cross on somebody's profile mean?

If you see a blue cross icon on someone's photo, it means that you have already said 'No' to that person on Encounters.

What is Invisible mode?

Invisible mode is a premium feature that lets you browse Chappy without anyone knowing who you are.

To enable it go to your profile page to open Settings, tap on Account Preferences and select Invisible mode. Please note that you need to activate Chappy Premium to use this feature.

Why am I getting the message 'Invalid phone number' when trying to verify my phone?

First please make sure that you are entering the correct phone number and country code. If you are still unable to verify your phone number, please contact our Customer Care Team and we will look into it for you.

How can I undo my last vote?

Simply tap the undo arrow icon in the upper left corner after you have voted for this user (i.e. in the next user's profile). Please note that you will need to have Chappy Premium enabled to access this feature! If you don't have Chappy Premium yet you will be redirected to the payment section. Also, you cannot undo Yes votes or two No votes in a row.

What is Rise Up?

Rise Up is a great way to get noticed. It puts your profile at the top of search results for people in your area and when you're in first place you’ll get more views and messages.

You can activate it by selecting Rise Up on your Popularity page.

How can I see who visited my profile?

To see who visited your profile and when, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to your Connections tab
  2. Tap the drop down menu at the top and select Visits

What is a gift and how can I send one?

You can send a gift to someone to show that you like them. To do it, just go to their profile page and click 'Grab his/her attention with a gift!'. Alternatively, you can do it directly from Chat by clicking on the gift icon . Choose from the gifts available and make someone’s day! You can also make sure "Private?" box is ticked to have your gift hidden from everyone apart from the person who received it.

Sexual Health

Everyone on Bumble who engages in sexual activity is encouraged to have a sexual health talk with every partner and practice safe sex.

Because not all STIs (sexually transmitted infections) have visible or tangible symptoms, it’s important to never make assumptions about anyone’s status--including your own. Be sure (1) to get tested on a regular basis and (2) to communicate about sexual health with your matches.

It can be a little awkward, so here are our top tips if you’re worried:

Asking someone to get tested

If you can, talk about getting tested before you have any kind of sexual contact with someone. This doesn’t mean you don’t trust them, it’s just about looking after each other.

When you’re starting the conversation, say that you value honesty and that you think getting tested is important because you care about your health as well as theirs.

Getting tested means accepting you might have an STI, but it’s a relief either way afterward. You could even get tested together and turn the process into something you bond over.

Telling someone you have a STID

Stay calm and remember that millions of people go through the same experience. Having an STI is nothing at all to be ashamed of.

It’s good to know the facts about the STI you have so you can answer any questions the person you’re telling might have. Consider telling them in a private and relaxed place, too.

If you’re worried they might react badly and you need support, check these resources. And keep all the above in mind for if you’re ever on the receiving end of a similar conversation.

How can I change my email address?

Please go to your settings and click on the pencil icon next to the section 'Your account'. Enter your new email address, click 'Save' and you will be asked to enter your current password to confirm this.

What is a Bundle pack?

How can I edit my work or education information?

If you want to change your work or education information on your profile you have to change it on Facebook first. After you amended it on Facebook simply go back to your Chappy profile and update your work and education section.

What are Reactions?

[Note: This feature is currently only available for people located in Canada, the UK, and the US.]

Want to make yourself stand out as soon as you match with someone on Bumble? Now you can with our Reactions feature! Here’s how it works:

If you have the ability to make the first move, you’ll now be able to react and comment on someone’s photos or profile prompts. Using reactions will also count as your first move so once you match the other person will be able to take it from there. 

If you don’t have first move privileges, you’ll still be able to react to a user’s photos and profile prompts using emojis. However, your reaction will only be revealed after the other user has swiped right, commented, or reacted to your profile in some way. 

Reacting to a profile on the app can be done in two easy steps:

  • Swipe up on the photo or profile prompt that you want to react to on someone’s Bumble profile. 
  • Choose your reaction or send a comment (if you have first move privileges).

Note for users on Bumble Web: If you are using Bumble web, you will be able to see reactions someone has sent you, but you will not be able to send them. Reactions can only be sent if you are using the Bumble app.

What is Invisible mode?

Invisible mode
is a premium feature that lets you browse Chappy without anyone knowing who you are. You can enable the invisible mode by going your settings and selecting Invisible mode. Please note that you need to activate Chappy Premium to be able to use this feature.

What is 'Credits from friends'?

The feature 'Credits from friends' helps you get credits by inviting your friends to join Chappy. As soon as you have invited your friends simply tap on the 'Collect' button next to your friend's name and collect your credits.

How do I uninstall Chappy from my phone or tablet?

Android

To uninstall the Chappy app from your Android:

1. Go to your Android's settings and open your application manager
2. Tap Chappy
3. Tap Uninstall

To reinstall the Chappy app for Android, download it again from the Google Play Store.

iPhone and iPad

To uninstall the Chappy app from your iPhone or iPad:

1. Press and hold the app icon
2. Tap the x that appears
3. Tap Delete to confirm

To reinstall the Chappy app for your iPhone or iPad, download it from the iTunes App Store.

What are stickers?

You can add funny stickers to your messages in Chat by clicking on the smiley icon on the bottom of the conversation box. You can choose between a number of sticker packs and once you purchase one it becomes available to you for an unlimited period of time.

Most of the sticker packs cost 250 credits; however, there are some stickers that require active Chappy Premium instead.

What are Payment settings?

Payment settings allow you to manage your payment method, Auto Top-up, check your credit balance, add credits and manage your Chappy Premium. Payment methods can include Credit Card, PayPal and your Mobile Phone Bill. Tap on Settings on your profile page and then select 'Payment settings'.

Can I delete Date mode?

Already in a relationship? Made a meaningful connection and no longer on the dating scene?

Yes, you can remove Date mode while still sticking around on Bizz and BFF! Follow these quick steps:

  1. Head into your settings by tapping the silhouette icon followed by the grey gear in the upper left-hand corner of the app
  2. You can then toggle off the button next to ‘Date Mode’ to disable the mode
  3. Once you tap the toggle, you will be prompted with a message to let you know that your dating profile will be permanently deleted and all of your connections will be erased in Date mode

We recommend taking a screenshot of any conversations that are special to you before proceeding because reactivating Date mode will not return these conversations to your message screen.

If you ever change your mind, just head back into your in-app settings and toggle ‘Date Mode’ back on again.



How can I see who visited my profile?

To see who visited your profile and when, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to your Connections tab
  2. Tap the drop down menu at the top and select Visits

What are notification settings?

In your notification settings you can choose which email notifications you'd like to receive from Chappy.

Support after being fetishized as a trans woman

How can I add my interests?

Your interests are all the little things you like – favorite bands, movies, holiday destinations, sports and many other things. You can also check out other people’s interests on their profiles, and see if they’re into the same things as you. To add interests, just visit your profile and either select interests from the available categories or add your own (these will need to be approved before they appear on your profile, so please don’t write anything offensive).

Why am I being asked to add a social network account when I try to log in?

No need to worry! If you need to add a social network account to your profile again we just want to ensure that you're the real owner of the profile. You only need to re-verify with a method you've already linked to your profile in the past. If you experience issues with this just contact our Customer Care Team and we will help you.

What are my Favourites and how can I access them?

Favourites are all those people who favourited you, as well as those who you marked as your favourite. Please note that you would need to activate Chappy Premium to access this folder.

How can I Extend a match?

We created Extend for all our busy bees out there who may need just a little more time to get a connection off the ground. When you use Extend you add an additional 24 hours to the countdown timer in our Date and BFF modes. Everyone gets one free Extend a day to use on someone who really gets them buzzing and our Bumble Boost subscribers are able to use Extend on an unlimited number of matches.

Women in opposite gender matches are able to activate Extend before they send the first message, while men in opposite gender matches can use Extend if the first move hasn’t been made within the first 24 hours. Folks in same-gender connections are able to Extend at any time before someone makes the first move.

To activate Extend follow these steps:

  1. Tap on the connection you’d like to Extend
  2. Tap on “Extend” to add 24 hours to the timer (your button may read “Daily Extend” if you’re using your free Extend for that day)

How can I buy credits on the iPhone app?

Credits are used to activate some of our great premium services on Chappy. You can purchase credits by tapping the credits balance on your profile page. Once you've done this, select your preferred method of payment, the amount of credits you would like and follow the instructions on the screen.

How can I only see verified users?

On Bumble we hope to connect you with amazing bees, not questionable catfish, so we’ve implemented a feature that allows you to only view verified profiles in your swipe deck.

As long as you’ve verified your own profile you can follow these steps to filter for only verified users:

On the mobile app:

  1. Head into your swipe queue and tap on the Filter icon located in the top right hand corner of the screen.
  2. Scroll down to “Filters” and tap “Set advanced filters”
  3. From there you can toggle on “Verified profiles only”

On Bumble Web:

  1. Click on your Profile Photo located in the upper left-hand corner of the screen
  2. Click “Settings”
  3. Scroll down to Advanced filters and toggle on “Verified profiles only” 

Remember: You can always ask a non-verified user to get verified! Learn more here.

How can I change my password?

Please open your profile and go to your settings in the top right corner and click on the pencil icon next to the section 'Your account'. Enter the new password, click on 'Save' and you will have to type in your current password and click 'Save' to confirm this.

How can I change 'I'm here to'?

To change your 'I'm here to...' message, open your profile page, go to Settings and then to Filter. Select if you want to Make new friends, Chat or Date and tap on Save in the top right corner to apply changes.

What is Travel Mode?

Going to a conference in a few days and wish you could start networking now? Moving to a new city and want to connect with a new BFF to show you the best spots? Have a dream vacation coming up and looking for a bae to dance the night away with? Whether you’re heading down the road or across the globe our Travel feature helps you form the important connections you’re looking for on your own time.

When you sign up to Bumble Premium, you can activate Travel Mode and select the city you want to appear in. Your location will show as being in the center of the city you’ve chosen (at this time you will not be able to select an exact location) and an indicator will display so other users know you’re using Travel.

To activate Travel follow these steps:

  1. Sign up to Bumble Premium by clicking on the option located on the menu screen under your profile photo
  2. Once you are all signed up, go ahead and open your Settings by tapping on the grey gear in the upper left-hand corner of the app
  3. Scroll to the Location section at the bottom and tap “Travel to…”
  4. Search the city you’d like to appear in and select it


What photos aren't allowed?

All of your photos and videos must comply with our Terms and Conditions and Guidelines or they might get removed. You shouldn’t post photos or videos that you don’t own, which break copyright. If you violate our Guidelines or Terms and Conditions, we may be forced to to delete your account.

What is Bumble Boost and Bumble Premium?

When you sign up for legacy Bumble Boost, you can:

  1. See everyone who has right-swiped you (your Beeline)
  2. Extend your matches by 24 hours
  3. Rematch with expired connections

You can learn how to sign up for Boost by clicking on the pixelated square in your Match Queue.

Revamped Bumble Boost includes:

Spotlight and SuperSwipes expire and renew weekly, so make sure to use them! 

Bumble Premium includes:

  • Access to unlimited Advanced filters
  • Access to your Beeline so you can see your admirers
  • Travel mode
  • Backtrack
  • Ability to extend time on your current matches
  • Rematch with users who have expired
  • Unlimited swipes
  • One Spotlight per week
  • Five SuperSwipes per week 

Spotlight and SuperSwipes expire and renew weekly, so make sure to use them! If you are signed up for our daily Bumble Boost/ Premium subscriptions, SuperSwipe and Spotlight credits are not included. 

You can sign up to Bumble Premium by clicking on the pixelated square in your match queue or to view both options click the silhouette in the bottom left-hand corner and tap your preferred subscription. 

*Bumble Premium and Bumble Boost are now our new subscription options. If you cancel your legacy Bumble Boost you will only have the option to subscribe to Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium moving forward.

Why didn't I receive an email after I selected 'Forgot my password'?

First please make sure that you entered the right email address and correct it if it’s wrong. If you entered it correctly check your email account’s spam folder in case the email ended up there by mistake. If you find the email in your spam folder follow the instructions and remember to mark it as ‘Not spam’.

Contact our Customer Care Team if you have issues locating the email to retrieve your password.

Spotting & recovering from catfishing


Catfishing is when a person on the app pretends to be someone they’re not. People catfish to get attention, partners, or sometimes money.

The surest way to know you’re not dealing with a catfish is to request that they verify their profile shortly after you match (if they haven’t already). Otherwise, keep this stuff in mind:

Suspect a catfish? Here are some things to look out for:

  • They refuse to video call or meet IRL
  • Their social media profiles look new
  • They ask for money
  • They either message constantly or erratically
  • Your own gut feeling says something isn’t right

Recovery from catfishing

The crucial thing is to never blame yourself. Catfishing can happen to anyone and however you’re feeling about the experience, it’s one to learn and grow from. You can do this by:

  • Taking a break from dating for long enough to clear your mind
  • Forgiving yourself and not feeling embarrassed or guilty

Who can see my profile?

It’s entirely up to you. You can choose to show your profile to absolutely everyone, or just Chappy users. Change it any time you like in your profile settings.

How can I change my location?

Your location is generated automatically by the GPS receiver on your device, so it cannot be altered, however you can choose whether to show your distance or not in Settings.

What photos aren't allowed?

What does online status mean and where can I turn it off/on?

Simply hover over the dot which you can find in front of the user's name on their profile and it will indicate when the user has been online last.

You can turn your online status on or off by going to your profile settings and select 'Yes' or 'No' in the section 'Show my online status'.

How can I buy credits?

Please tap on the credits icon on your profile page, choose one of our payment methods and then follow the on screen instructions. Remember that you can also activate Auto Top-up so that you never run out of credits!

What are my Favourites and how can I access them?

Can I stop receiving email notifications?

Of course! You can turn off any notifications you don't want to receive (not including some standard company emails).

To manage the notifications you receive, just open your profile page , tap on 'Settings' and open 'Account preferences'. In the Notifications section, you will be able to select what notifications you want to recieve and via what method.

What is Private Detector and how does it work?

Our algorithm determines if a photo you’ve been sent may contain a lewd image and gives you the power to choose whether or not you’d like to view it.

If you’ve been sent a lewd photo, the Bumble app will warn you that it may contain nudity before you decide to open it. If you do not want to see this image, simply select ‘Decline’ under the photo. The image will be deleted from your chat and you will be prompted with the option to block the user. If you chose to block this person the chat will be removed from both parties' message screen and you will no longer be able to view one another's profiles.

If the Private Detector has recognized a photo as potentially lewd and you would like to view it, just select the photo, confirm that you wish to view it and continue chatting.

If you are sending someone a photo that is suspected to contain lewd imagery, the Private Detector will remind you that sending such an image may lead to you being reported. Consent is crucial. If you send an unsolicited lewd photo and are reported, you will be blocked from using the app.

How can I sign out?

So you want to sign out? Old school, we respect that. Hover your mouse over your thumbnail image on the left side of your display. Click on the grey exit icon , which appears next to your thumbnail picture. There that's it! All done.

If you can't see the icon, open your settings and you'll see 'Log out' below 'Your profile'.

How can I change my gender on my profile?

If you would like to change the gender on your profile, please do the following:
  1. Open your profile page
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap on Basic info and apply necessary changes
Please note, you can change the gender on your profile only once.

How can I add photos?

On the mobile app add photos to your Bumble profile by following these steps:

  1. Start by going to your profile
  2. Tap "Edit Profile"
  3. Tap the "+" sign to upload a photo from your phone's library, import a photo from Facebook, Instagram or upload a brand new one.

On Bumble Web you can add photos by following these steps:

  1. Click your profile image in the upper left-hand corner
  2. Click the "+" on a blank photo slot to add a new image

Pro tip: Profiles with at least three photos perform best, however, we always recommend adding six photos onto your profile! Be sure to upload clear, forward-facing photos so users are more likely to connect and swipe to the right. 

What are filters and advanced filters?

Filters are a feature on Bumble which helps you curate the users who appear in your Swipe Deck.

The filters for who you’re interested in connecting with (available in Date and Bizz), age, and (in many regions) distance are chosen when you create your account and can be changed at any time. Once you’ve indicated those initial preferences you have the option to set additional Advanced Filters.

Advanced Filters are now a part of Bumble Premium and subscribers are able to choose an unlimited number of Advanced Filters. It’s important to note that you can only select a filter if you’ve self-identified in that category (e.g. if you haven’t indicated your personal stance on smoking you cannot filter for non-smokers).

Not looking for the same thing in a friend as you are for a date? Don’t sweat it! Each of our three modes, Date, BFF, and Bizz, has unique filter options so no matter the mode you’re able to find the connections you’re looking for.

To set up Advanced Filters follow these steps:

On the mobile app:

  1. Head into your swipe queue and tap on the icon located in the top right-hand corner
  2. Scroll down to ‘Filters’ and tap ‘Set advanced filters.’
  3. From there you can choose the filters you’re interested in applying

On Bumble Web:

  1. Click on your Profile Photo located in the upper left-hand corner of the screen
  2. Click Settings
  3. Scroll down to Advanced Filters and click

Remember: The more filters you apply the more limited the number of users you see in your Swipe Deck and (for Boost subscribers) the Beeline. If you feel like things seem a little quiet in your part of the Hive try toggling your filters to allow more folks to appear for you to swipe on.

What is a Bundle pack?

When you use one of our premium services for credits (Rise up, Spotlight or Extra shows), you might be offered two more for the price of one!

How can I change my location?

Your location is generated automatically by the GPS receiver on your device, so it cannot be altered, however you can choose whether to show your distance or not in Settings.

What photos aren't allowed?

All of your photos and videos must comply with our Terms and Conditions and Guidelines or they might get removed. You shouldn’t post photos or videos that you don’t own, which break copyright. If you violate our Guidelines or Terms and Conditions, we may be forced to to delete your account.

What happens when you report


Your safety comes first on Bumble. If something happens that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please report it.

Here is what happens behind the scenes when you report something to us:

  • Our team of human moderators look into every report we receive.
  • In most cases, we’ll handle the report without you needing to do anything else.
  • If we ever need more information to sort things out, we’ll reach out to you by email.
  • We usually can’t share the status of reports for privacy reasons. But if you're ever concerned, you can get in touch with our support team and we'll try to help.

How can I buy credits on the Android app?

Go to your profile page, select Credits and then follow the instructions on screen.

You can use Chappy credits to use our 'Spotlight' service, get extra shows in Encounters, rate more photos in Encounters or increase your daily contact limit.

Why am I being charged again?

If you are being charged again and you are not sure why please check if you currently have a Chappy Premium subscription or if you have the Auto-Top up feature turned on for credits:

To cancel your Chappy Premium subscription made via iTunes, go to the settings of your iPhone or iPad, choose 'iTunes and App Store', then tap your Apple ID and 'View Apple ID'. Enter your password, scroll down to subscriptions and tap 'Manage'. On the Chappy Premium screen turn off Auto Renew.

To cancel a Chappy Premium subscription bought via Google Play, launch the Google Play store on your phone, locate the Chappy app, and then tap 'Unsubscribe'.

If you purchased Chappy Premium via Credit Card or PayPal visit the website and close the subscription via your payment settings.

To cancel an SMS subscription, follow the instructions in your initial subscription confirmation SMS message or any subscription-renewal SMS.

If you want to turn off Auto-Top up for your credits, simply open your settings, go to your 'Payment Settings' section and turn the Auto-Top up off. If you are using an iPhone please log in via the Chappy website and go to the 'Payment settings' section to turn the Auto-Top up off.

How can I change my search criteria?

Open People Nearby . Once there, tap on the filter icon in the top right corner . Select what kind of people you're looking to meet and tap on a tick to apply your preferences. That's it!

How can I change my gender on my profile?

If you would like to change the gender on your profile, please do the following:
  1. Open your profile page
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap on Basic info and apply necessary changes

How can I change my profile photo?

To change your profile photo, follow these steps:

1. Start by going to your profile

2. Click on "Edit Profile"

3. Drag any of your photos to the first position in the profile preview. Everyone will now see this photo first!

I'm having trouble buying Chappy credits. What do I do?

Please contact our Customer Care team if you're having trouble buying credits. To do this, just open your profile page, go to Settings and select Feedback.

How can I change my date of birth on my profile?

What are Payment settings?

In Payment settings you can manage your payment method and Auto Top-up, view your credit balance, add credits and cancel Chappy Premium. If you use a credit card or PayPal as your payment method, you can also choose to unlink it from your account. In order to access this, please open your profile, click on a cog icon in the top right corner and scroll down to Payment settings.

What photos aren't allowed?

All of your photos and videos must comply with our Terms and Conditions and Guidelines or they might get removed. You shouldn’t post photos or videos that you don’t own, which break copyright. If you violate our Guidelines or Terms and Conditions, we may be forced to to delete your account.

How do I delete my profile?

To delete your profile, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Open your profile page
  2. Tap on and Account
  3. Tap on Delete account at the bottom of the screen and follow the instructions.

If you cannot see Delete Account that means you've not confirmed your email address yet when you registered. Please open your email and click the verification link sent to you. If you not longer have this link, please get in touch with our Customer Support team using our Feedback form.

Why do my location services remain on after I close the app?

We have a feature called Bumped into, which shows you users who have been in close proximity of you within the last twenty four hours. For the Bumped into feature to function, we require location services to run in the background after you close the application. Don't worry though! Unlike the regular location services, this is a low-consumption mode service, so it doesn't use all your battery up!

Reporting abusive messages


Abusive messages have no place on Bumble. If someone crosses the line, we have your back. 

To keep yourself and our community safe, please report any abusive messages to us. Reports are anonymous, so a reported user won’t know who flagged their account.

Here are some examples of messages you should report:

  • Threats to your safety, health, or wellbeing.
  • Derogatory language or hate speech. Like sexism or racism. 
  • If someone is harassing you by messaging too much.
  • Unsolicited or nonconsensual sexual images or content.
  • Spam or external links you aren’t comfortable with.

Bumble is a place for you to be who you are, so it’s never ok for someone to make you feel bad, belittled, or manipulated.

How can I change my date of birth on my profile?

How can I see who visited my profile?

Chappy has a Visitors page that lets you see who visited you and when, and links straight to their profile.

How can I change my location?

If your location services are switched on for the browser you are using to log in, then your location is automatically determined by your GPS and cannot be changed.

However if the location services are switched off for this browser, you can change your location manually. Just go to your profile page, tap on Edit profile, scroll down to location, tap on it and enter a new one. Don't forget to tap on Save to apply the changes.

How does messaging work on Bumble?

Connection is a two-way street. Before a conversation can get off the ground both users have to have swiped to the right to create a match.

DATE MODE:

Users who have First Move privileges will be able to send the first message directly from the ‘Boom’ screen which appears once two users match, or you can go to your connections screen by tapping the grey logo in the upper right-hand corner to view and message your matches.

Remember: First Moves are time-sensitive! You have 24 hours from the time you match with someone to send the first message. If you’re feeling nervous, try using our Question Game to break the ice.

If you don’t have First Move privileges you have to wait for the other user to send the first message. Once they do you will be able to reply to them to lock in your connection.

Remember: You have 24 hours to respond to a First Move! If you see that a connection is expiring soon you can use your Daily Extend feature to give them a little more time to break the ice.

BFF MODE:

Because BFF only shows users who identify as the same gender, everyone has First Move privileges. This means either party is able to send the first message once a match is created either from the ‘Boom’ screen or their connections.

Remember: The 24-hour limit still applies in BFF Mode so don’t miss out on the chance to connect!

BIZZ MODE:

Because networking can sometimes be a bit more of a process, Bizz Mode works a little differently.

Once a match is established, users with First Move privileges have seven days to send the first message from the ‘Boom’ screen or their connections. From the time the first message is sent, users without First Move privileges have seven days to respond in order to lock in the connection.

What is 'Credits from friends'?

The feature 'Credits from friends' helps you get credits by inviting your friends to join Chappy. As soon as you have invited your friends simply tap on the 'Collect' button next to your friend's name and collect your credits.

How can I delete a photo?

To remove a photo from your profile on the mobile app, follow these steps:

  1. Start by going to your profile
  2. Click on "Edit Profile"
  3. Click on the "X" at the bottom of the photo and that photo will be deleted.

To remove a photo from your profile on Bumble Web, follow these steps:

  1. Click your profile image in the upper left-hand corner
  2. Tap the "X" on the top right-hand corner

How can I change my browser’s location settings?

Changing your browser’s location settings will allow us to see your approximate location, so that we can help you find people in your area. Don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone exactly where you are, only how close, and we won’t share this information with anyone else.

How you change your settings depends on your browser:

1. Open the Tools menu
2. Click Internet options
3. Click Privacy
4. Uncheck ‘Never allow websites to track your physical location’.

Google Chrome
1. Go to Settings
2. Click Show advanced settings
3. Under Privacy, click Content settings
4. In Location choose ‘Ask me when a site tries to track my physical location’

Firefox
1. In the address bar, type about:config
2. On the next page, type geo.enabled in the search box
3. Double click on the ‘geo.enabled’ preference
4. It should now say ‘enabled’

Safari
1. Go to the Safari menu
2. Click Preferences
3. Click Privacy
4. Choose ‘Prompt for each website one time only’

How can I edit my work or education information?

If you want to change your work or education information on your profile you have to change it on Facebook first. After you amended it on Facebook simply go back to your Chappy profile and update your work and education section.

How can I cancel my Bumble Boost subscription through iTunes?

If you would like to cancel your Bumble Boost subscription, follow these steps:

1. Go to your phone Settings.

2. Tap your name at the top of the screen.

3. Tap Media & Purchases.

4. Tap View Account. You might need to sign in or use Touch ID.

5. Tap Subscriptions.

6. Tap the subscription that you want to manage (Bumble). Note: If you don’t see a Bumble subscription but are still being charged, make sure that you’re signed in with the correct Apple ID.

7. Use the options to manage your subscription.

8. Tap Cancel Subscription. Note: When you cancel, your subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle.

When do Bumble matches expire? And what happens once they do?

In heterosexual matches, women have 24 hours to make the first move before the connection expires. Once they’ve sent their first message, their match has 24 hours to respond, or the connection expires.

In same-sex matches, either person is encouraged to make the first move within 24 hours. The other person has 24 hours to respond, or the connection expires.

We understand that our users are busy and may not always be able to get to a new match within 24 hours. To help with this, we provide each user with one free Extend per day to allow them extra time to lock in a special connection (learn more about Extend here). With our Bumble Boost and Bumble Premium subscriptions, you can extend an unlimited number of matches and even Rematch with expired connections (more about Boost here).

Profile Verification

How do I verify my profile?

Show potential matches you’re the real deal by verifying your profile. It’ll give them confidence that you’re the same great person IRL as you are in your profile photos.

To verify your profile, tap either the Verify button in your own profile or another person’s verified badge.

Then, take a selfie mimicking the random pose you see on your screen and send the selfie to Bumble by following the simple steps.

We’ll then use a combination of automated and human review to check your selfie matches the person in your profile photos, and within a few minutes, your verification will be confirmed or denied.

Why have I been asked to verify my profile? 

From time to time, we require users to verify themselves. Typically, we do this to ensure that an account is not fake or operated by a robot, or if we have a suspicion that the user may be under 18 years of age. We use an automated process and human moderators to identify that you are a real person and old enough to use Bumble. 

The selfie photo submitted to verify your profile is stored in our system along with any other photos you've uploaded onto the app. Don't worry, this photo won't be shown on your profile and it won't be visible to any of your profile visitors. We collect and use your photo for profile verification purposes on the basis of our legitimate interests identified in our Privacy Policy.

How can I increase my popularity?

If your popularity is low there are loads of easy ways to boost it! Just go to your Popularity page and select one of our features for credits. You can use Get featured , Rise up to first place in search results   , show up more in Encounters  or tell everyone you are online and ready to chat  .

How can I delete my profile?

If you really want to delete your Chappy profile, just log into your account and click on the cog icon on the top right corner of your profile page. Scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says 'Delete Account' and follow the instructions given. If you’re having trouble logging in to your account, you can restore your password on this page. If you cannot find the email in your inbox please check your spam folder. If you have problems when trying to delete your profile please contact our Customer Care Team and we will help you.

How can I delete my profile visitors?

Unfortunately you cannot delete your profile visitors at the moment. You can however remove the new notification by looking through the list of people who visited your profile.

Why have I not received credits after taking part in an 'Earn your credits' offer?

Sometimes, you'll be offered the chance to take part in questionnaires and downloads in exchange for Chappy credits. If you do not receive your credits for whatever reason, you'll need to contact the Fyber support team directly.

To contact the Fyber support team, please click on the credits icon on the left side of your Chappy page, select 'Earn your credits' and select 'Support' in the bottom left corner of the pop-up window.

What is the Invisible mode?

Invisible mode is a premium feature that lets you browse Chappy without anyone knowing who you are. You can enable this feature by going to your settings, scrolling down to the 'Invisible mode' section and by activating Chappy Premium. As soon as it is enabled a grey silhouette with a hat will appear on your thumbnail photo.

How can I edit my work or education information?

If you want to change your work or education information on your profile you have to change it on Facebook first. After you amended it on Facebook simply go back to your Chappy profile and update your work and education section.

How can I see who visited my profile?

To see who visited your profile and when, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to your Connections tab
  2. Tap the drop down menu at the top and select Visits

How can I cancel my Bumble Boost subscription through Google Play?

If you've subscribed to Bumble Boost through Google Play and want to cancel your subscription, follow these steps:

  1. Open Google Play store
  2. Go to "Account" under the Play store menu
  3. Tap on "Subscriptions" and you will see your active app subscriptions.
  4. Tap on your Bumble subscription and then click "Cancel"

New update: All in-app payments for Bumble Boost subscriptions and/or other Premium features on Android must be made via Google Play. If you prefer to use a different payment method without adding it to your Google Play account, you can still make that purchase by accessing your Bumble account via the web instead of the app.


How can I reactivate my deleted profile?

First thing’s first: welcome back!

If you deleted your profile less than 28 days ago, you should have a confirmation email from us that includes a reactivation link. Click that and you’ll be able to jump right back in.

If it’s been longer, you’ll need to create a new profile – a good excuse to switch things up and try a different approach, maybe?

Does Bumble customer support have a phone number?

Bumble does not have a customer support phone number, but our team is always here to help you! We receive a large number of technical questions and requests, and we’ve found often they are more easily explained in writing.

You can contact the Bumble Support Team online 24/7 in the following ways:

  1. Directly within the app through the "Contact & FAQ" button.
  2. Email our Support Team here.

We are aware that there are a handful of fake customer support phone numbers posted on various websites - none of these are affiliated with Bumble.

How can I hide my account?

If you don't want to use your account for a while, you have the option to hide it. When your account is hidden, you will not appear in People Nearby or the Encounters. Users you chatted with in the past can still message you but you will not able to read the message unless you unhide your profile.

To hide your account simply go to your settings , select 'Delete account' at the bottom of the page and select the option 'Hide your account'. As soon as you confirm this you will be logged out automatically. To read your messages, get seen in People nearby and Encounters again, simply log back in and unhide your profile.

Why do I have to show my school or job information?

One of the most important aspects of the Bumble experience is that our users provide reliable information on their profiles.

Job and education information provide you with a deeper understanding of who you’re swiping on and who’s swiping on you. Pulling this information from your Facebook profile means these details are more likely to be authentic and reliable.

If you don’t want to show your school or job information for privacy reasons, you can select an old occupation and/or school, change your Facebook information to be less specific, or delete these details from your Facebook profile.

Alternatively, you can deny Bumble access to your work and education information during the account creation process.

What is the Favourites folder?

Favourites folder is where you can find all of the people you've marked as a favourite and all of the ones who favourited you. You can switch between tabs using the buttons at the top of the page. Please note that Favourited you can only be accessed if you activate Chappy Premium.

What are my Favourites and how can I access them?

Favourites are all those people who favourited you, as well as those who you marked as your favourite. Please note that you would need to activate Chappy Premium to access this folder.

How can I cancel Bumble Boost if I bought it with my credit card?

If you're an Android user you now have to sign up for a Bumble subscription through Google Play. Previously, you may have subscribed to Bumble Boost using your credit card, and you can follow these steps to cancel:

  1. Tap the profile icon on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen
  2. Tap on "My Pay Plan" and then "Boost" or "Premium" depending on what option you are currently subscribed to
  3. Use the option on-screen to cancel

If you’ve subscribed using your credit card (or PayPal) on Bumble Web, follow these steps to cancel:

  1. Click your profile photo in the upper left of the screen
  2. Choose “Manage your Boost”
  3. Click “Unsubscribe” beneath the summary of your Boost subscription in the middle of the screen

In both cases, you'll still be able to use your subscription until its expiration date!

How do I get Verified status?

Getting Verified status helps to prove to other users that you’re a real person, making it easier to make friends.

To get Verified, all you need to do is go to the Verifications area on your profile page and then you will be able to verify your profile with a photo of yourself.

Can I get an expired match back?

Expired matches will appear in the app again, so don't worry - you'll get another chance to match with them. We believe in second chances!

You can also Rematch with expired connections instantly with a subscription to Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium.

Your expired matches will be shown in your Match queue, and are displayed in silver circles. To rematch with any of these just tap their circle, and then choose Rematch! 

Keep in mind that you'll only see expired matches where you didn't send your first message in time. If it was the other person's turn and they didn't send their message, it's up to them to Rematch.

Troubleshooting guidelines

If you're experiencing any problems on Chappy, it's possible that this is being caused by a temporary issue on the site.

Please try the following steps in attempt to resolve the problem:

1. Check that you're using the latest version of the browser and update it if necessary

2. Clear cookies and cache on your browser

3. Quit and re-open the browser

4. Sign out and sign back into your account

If none of the above measures helped, please also try:

  • Check the same page in a different browser in order to check if issue is down to a particular browser, and let us know if issue occurs in both browsers.
  • Disable any temporary plug-ins, add-ons or extensions in your browser and quit and re-open the browser afterwards.
  • Add https://chappyapp.com/ into your antivirus program or browser's list of safe websites and ensure your antivirus hasn't identified any issues with your operating system.

How can I manage my privacy?

You can manage your privacy via your 'Settings' . Options are available to control who can view your profile, if you want to show your distance and online status, if you only want to be shown to people you liked and visit and if you want allow search by email.

How can I change my gender on my profile?

If you would like to change the gender on your profile, please do the following:

  1. Open your profile page
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap on 'Edit basic info' and apply necessary changes

How can I change my verification method?

If you want to change your social network account or your verified phone number on your Chappy profile, please open your settings and scroll down to Your account section. Click on the pencil icon and then on Unlink next to the verification method you would like to disconnect. Once the details are unlinked you can add a new phone number or social network account.

How can I delete the Chappy application from my phone or tablet?

You can delete the Chappy App as any other application on your Android phone or tablet. Please go to settings of your device, select Applications Manager and then the app and choose uninstall.

How can I change my date of birth?

Can I stop receiving notifications?

Of course! Open your profile on the web, click on the cog icon in the top right corner to open your settings, and scroll to Notifications. Clicking on the pencil icon  will let you make changes to your notification preferences. 

Turn off any notification for email or browser that you don't want to receive (not including some standard company emails). You can turn them back on at any time.

Make sure to click 'Save' to save your changes!

What is the Beeline?

Ever since we were kids pulling petals off flowers chanting, “They love me, they love me not,” dating has been a guessing game. While the mystery can be fun, sometimes you just want to have the answers--that’s why we made the Beeline. Your Beeline fills with users who’ve swiped to the right on you but who you haven’t swiped on just yet. We call these folks Admirers. Because your Admirers have already made their interests known, there's no guesswork needed.

Legacy Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium subscribers are able to not only view the Beeline and swipe on their Admirers, but they’re also able to apply their filters to their Beeline for a more curated experience. If you aren’t subscribed to Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium you will still see the Beeline though you will not be able to view your Admirers.

You can view your Beeline by following these steps:

  1. Tap on the grey chat bubble in the lower right-hand corner of the screen
  2. Locate the pixelated square to the left of your Match Queue (Note: Sometimes the Beeline will be empty so you may not always see this)
  3. Tap the pixelated square to view your Admirers or sign up for  Bumble Premium.

I accidentally swiped left, can I undo it?

If you've accidentally swiped left, you can tap the arrow on the top left corner of your screen. 

To Backtrack on Bumble Web tap the two arrows next to the ‘X’ icon.

Backtrack is a part of Bumble Boost and Bumble Premium, if you don’t already have a subscription you will be presented with options to subscribe when tapping the backtrack button.

How does photo verification work?

To verify your profile with your photo please follow these instructions:

  • Go to your profile.
  • Click on the photo icon in the 'Verification' section.
  • In the pop up window please click on 'Take a photo' and grant access to your camera.
  • Take a photo with the same gesture shown in the example.
  • Click on 'Send' if you are happy with the picture you took or click on 'Retake' if you want to try again.

Make sure that your face is clearly visible when taking the photo and don't worry, this photo won't be shown on your profile and it won't be visible to any of your profile visitors.

If you have issues using the Safari browser please use another browser like Firefox or Google Chrome.

Can I use multiple Bumble modes?

Yes, you can use more than one Bumble mode at a time and maintain separate profiles for each mode.

To switch between modes follow these steps:

  1. Head into your settings and tap ‘Choose Mode.’
  2. Once you have selected your mode of preference, you can now search for new connections in your encounter screen.

No matter what mode you are in, you can now see all your matches in your match queue. Bizz and BFF connections will show a label on the user in your match queue to help identify which mode you made this connection in.

Why is my verification photo rejected?

If your verification photo is rejected it might be due to the following reasons:
  • Your face is not clearly visible.
  • The entire gesture is not shown in the photo you take.
  • The photo is too dark, too light or too blurry.
  • The gesture doesn't match the gesture we showed you in our example.

Can I search for a specific person on Bumble?

Bumble was designed to help you make brand new connections with people in your area, so we currently do not have the option to search for specific people.

Am I penalized for deleting and recreating my profile?

Yes and no. There are no automatic punishments or “shadow bans” for deleting and recreating your Bumble profile. However, we have found that users who create multiple accounts in a short time (e.g. making five profiles in the span of two months) naturally tend to have fewer matches.

If you’re not shadow banning me, why am I getting fewer matches?

Seeing the same profile more than once can cause users to think they’re experiencing a technical issue or to suspect that your profile may be spam--no one wants to match with a bot. This leads to more left swipes and a negative experience for everyone. It's best that all activity is concentrated on one account to ensure you have the best experience possible.

We totally understand needing to take breaks, so if you’d like to temporarily remove your profile from circulation we recommend using the Snooze feature which allows you to step away without deleting your profile.

If you’re having a hard time making connections with your existing profile, be sure you’re using all the fantastic features available to you in the Hive such as adding Badges and Profile Prompts, and check out our blog The Buzz for some pro tips.

Please note: If you recreate your profile multiple times, you can run the risk of getting warned or blocked from Bumble permanently.






How can I block a user?

We understand that there are some people you don't want to receive messages from. Therefore, you can easily block someone at anytime!

  1. Visit the user's profile
  2. Scroll to the bottom of their profile
  3. Tap on 'Block or Report' and then 'Block'
You can also find the same button at the top of a conversation. Please note that that person will still be able to see your profile page and see if you are online (unless you using Invisible mode), but you won't receive his or her messages anymore.

How can I buy credits on the Chappy Mobile website?

Go to your profile page and select credits, then follow the instructions. You can use Chappy credits to use our 'Spotlight' service, add more votes in Encounters or increase your daily contact limit.

Why were email invites sent to my contacts?

We have a feature that enables you to find your friends on Chappy by importing existing contacts from your email account. Invitations to your friends are only sent if you share your address book on Chappy and send invitations to friends who have not joined us yet.

Don't worry! When importing your contacts, you can always choose to uncheck any contacts who you do not want to invite or add to your friends on Chappy.

I don't have a webcam to verify my profile with a photo. What can I do?

Don't worry! If you don't have a webcam just use your phone camera by accessing your profile on your mobile phone. If you don't have a camera on your phone just ask a friend to borrow theirs or use an internet cafe to complete the process.

Why am I being charged again?

If you are being charged again and you are not sure why please check if you currently have a Chappy Premium subscription or if you have the Auto-Top up feature turned on for credits:

To cancel your Chappy Premium subscription made via iTunes, go to the settings of your iPhone or iPad, choose 'iTunes and App Store', then tap your Apple ID and 'View Apple ID'. Enter your password, scroll down to subscriptions and tap 'Manage'. On the Chappy Premium screen turn off Auto Renew.

To cancel a Chappy Premium subscription bought via Google Play, launch the Google Play store on your phone, locate the Chappy app, and then tap 'Unsubscribe'.

If you purchased Chappy Premium via Credit Card or PayPal visit the website and close the subscription via your payment settings.

To cancel an SMS subscription, follow the instructions in your initial subscription confirmation SMS message or any subscription-renewal SMS.

If you want to turn off Auto-Top up for your credits, simply open your settings, go to your 'Payment Settings' section and turn the Auto-Top up off. If you are using an iPhone please log in via the Chappy website and go to the 'Payment settings' section to turn the Auto-Top up off.

How do I use Video Chat?

Video chat can be a great way to get to know someone better before meeting them in person.

To start a video chat with one of your matches, tap on the grey video camera icon in the top right-hand corner of the chat screen. 

Your match will see that you’re calling and can accept or decline. And don’t worry if they miss your call. We’ll let them know that you rang so it’s easy for them to get back to you.

Why am I seeing people from an area outside of my own?

Bumble shows you people in or very close to your location. Once you’ve swiped through all of the people in your area, Bumble will automatically find other users in places nearby. We don't want you to run out of people to swipe on! (Besides, who knows who you might find just a little farther away?)

If this is a deal-breaker for you, follow these steps:

1. Tap on your "search preferences" icon in the top right corner of the encounters screen 

2. Under "Distance" make sure "See people slightly further away if I run out" is toggled off so that it is not yellow. We will no longer show you people outside of the set distance preferences. 

What is SuperSwipe?

SuperSwipe is a premium feature that lets you tell a potential match you’re confidently interested in them.  Here’s how it works: 

  1. You can sign up to Bumble BoostBumble Premium, or purchase SuperSwipes independently by tapping on the option on the main menu screen under your profile photo.
  2. Once you've selected the option for you, head into your swipe queue and tap the star icon on someone's profile to let them know that they stand out.  
  3. After you activate a SuperSwipe, the other user will be notified that you're interested in getting to know them better.

If you have Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium, you get five SuperSwipes and one Spotlight per week to use as part of your subscription. 

Note: With Bumble Boost and Bumble Premium subscriptions, Spotlight and SuperSwipes expire and replenish weekly on the day the original subscription purchase was made. For example, if you purchase a subscription on Tuesday, you'll lose access to any unused Spotlights and SuperSwipes the following Tuesday, but you'll receive your new batch that day as well for the next week! 


I'm having trouble buying Chappy credits. What do I do?

What is Spotlight?

Spotlight is our premium feature designed to advance your profile to the top of the stack to be viewable by more people instantly. 

Here's how it works:

  1. You can sign up to Bumble BoostBumble Premium, or purchase Spotlight independently by tapping on one of these options on the main menu screen under your profile photo.
  2. After you’ve made your purchase, you can activate Spotlight mode and you’ll advance your profile to the top of the stack to be viewable by more people instantly without anyone knowing. You have the option to use one Spotlight for 30 minutes or two Spotlights for 150 minutes.

If you have Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium, you get one Spotlight per week and five SuperSwipes as part of your subscription. 

Please note: With Bumble Boost and Bumble Premium subscriptions, Spotlight and SuperSwipes expire and replenish weekly on the day the original subscription purchase was made. For example, if you purchase a subscription on Tuesday, you'll lose access to any unused Spotlights and SuperSwipes the following Tuesday, but you'll receive your new batch that day as well for the next week!  Therefore if you wish to use Spotlight for 150 minutes, you'll need to purchase another Spotlight in addition to the one Spotlight you receive with your subscription. 


Why do I need to confirm some of my information when I try to log in?

The security of our users is very important to us and therefore we might ask you to confirm some of your details. No need to worry as we will only ask you to confirm details that you added in the past.

  • If we call you then you'll be prompted to enter a number into a field on your screen; simply enter the last four digits of the number we're calling you from.
  • If we ask you to confirm your email address or phone number please do so. You don't need to have access to your email address or phone number as you only need to enter it.
  • If we're asking for your password but you do not remember it, just click on the 'Forgot Password' button and follow the instructions sent to your email.

If you have problems with confirming your details please contact our Customer Care Team and we will look into it for you.

What's the difference between a match and an admirer?

Imagine it: You’re swiping along when you come across an amazing profile. You get a little excited, maybe you’re already thinking about your first move. Holding your breath you slide them to the right only for that magical Boom! Screen to appear. Because both you and this other user have swiped to the right you two are now a match.

All of your most recent matches will appear right above your messages in your Match Queue. Once a conversation gets going, they’ll move down into your messages.

Admirers are a bit different. These users have swiped to the right on your profile (because, duh, you’re awesome) but you haven’t swiped to the left or right on them yet. If you’re a Bumble Premium subscriber you can actually take a peek at your admirers in the Beeline and decide from there if you want to swipe to the left or right.

Remember: Sometimes an admirer won’t appear in your swipe deck because they don’t fit your filters (e.g. age, distance, or Advanced Filters like astrological signs). We recommend switching up your filters from time to time, you never know who may surprise you!

I'm having trouble buying Chappy credits. What do I do?

Why has my photo been moderated?

We work hard to ensure that Bumble is a safe and empowering platform for all of our users. Our photo moderation rules are in place to protect our community.

If your photo has been moderated, it will most likely be for one of the following reasons:

  • Your photo contains erotic content
  • You're wearing swimwear or underwear. Swimwear is OK in a pool or beach setting, but no bathroom mirror selfies or similar are allowed
  • Your photo is of someone under 18 by themselves
  • Your face is not clearly visible for some reason. This can include the image file being too small, your face being obscured, or too many filters being used
  • Your photo contains a watermark (this is only OK in Bizz mode)
  • Your photo has a caption or text laid over it
  • You have uploaded a photo of someone who is not you
  • Your photo contains firearms (more on this here)

Can I make purchases on Bumble Web?

Yes! You can make purchases using a credit card or PayPal on your computer.

To purchase a Bumble subscription on Web:

  1. Click your name in the top left corner of your screen
  2. Select Manage Your Boost and select your choice of subscription

To purchase Superswipes or Spotlight sessions on Bumble Web:

  1. Click your name in the top left corner of your screen
  2. Select the option you want to purchase

If you decide to purchase Bumble Boost on your computer, you will have to cancel it within Bumble Web. You can cancel your subscription by following the same steps as above.

Why am I getting the message 'Invalid phone number' when trying to verify my phone?

First please make sure that you are entering the correct phone number and country code. If you are still unable to verify your phone number, please contact our Customer Care Team and we will look into it for you.

How can I add new occupation or education info to my profile?

To add new job or school information in the app, just follow these simple steps:

  1. Click on your Profile Edit screen and select the section you would like to update.
  2. You can choose to input a personalized occupation and education or select from our list of 'General Occupations' in the menu.
  3. If you're using our Android app, the new information will be shown automatically.
  4. If you're an iPhone user, pull down on the screen to refresh and update your info.
  5. You can select any of your listed jobs or schools to display on your profile.
  6. If you change jobs at any point, or you want to change this information for any other reason, follow these steps again.

To update your job or school information on Bumble Web, just follow these simple steps:

  1. Click on your name in the top left corner of your screen
  2. Scroll down and click on My Work & Education

Here, you can update or add your details. Click Save when you’re finished!

My popularity is low - how can I boost it?

There are many ways to boost your popularity and get seen by more people. You can buy Chappy credits to use our 'Spotlight' service or get your very own Chappy Premium.

How can I unblock someone?

First, go to your Settings by clicking on the cog icon in the top right corner of your profile page. Scroll down to Blocked Users, click on the pencil icon next to this section, select who you would like to unblock and click on Unblock.

How can I change my location?

Your location will be automatically established by your phone's GPS.

If you’re interested in the dating pool of another city, you can change your location using Travel Mode to make connections wherever you’d like.

With Bumble Premium, you can activate Travel Mode to swipe and be shown in another city before or during your travels making it more convenient to create genuine connections!

What is Travel and how does it work?

Going to a conference in a few days and wish you could start networking now? Moving to a new city and want to connect with a new BFF to show you the best spots? Got a dream vacation coming up and looking for a bae to dance the night away with? No matter if you’re heading down the road or across the globe our Travel feature helps you form the important connections you’re looking for on your own time.

When you activate Travel you can select the city your profile appears in for seven days. Your location will show as the center of the city you’ve chosen (at this time you will not be able to select an exact location) and an indicator will display so other users know you’re using Travel.

Here's how to activate Travel mode: 

1. Open Settings by tapping on the grey gear in the upper left-hand corner of the app

2. Scroll to the Location section at the bottom and tap “Travel to…”

3. Search the city you’d like to appear in and select it

Travel mode is available as part of our Bumble Premium subscription.



How can I recover a deleted match?

It's not possible to recover a match you've deleted. To avoid accidentally deleting a match, Bumble asks you to verify that you want to delete a connection first!

Can I change my location more than once while using Travel?

When you activate Travel with Bumble Premium you’re able to change your location to the city of your choice as many times as you’d like.

To change your location follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings by tapping on the grey gear in the upper left-hand corner of the app
  2. Scroll to the Location section at the bottom and tap “Travel to”
  3. Search the city you’d like to appear in and select it

Please note, you can only choose one location at a time.

How do I enable location services for Bumble on my Android?

To enable location services for Bumble on an Android device, follow these steps:

1. Open your device settings

2. Scroll down and select "Personal"

3. Find the "Location Services" icon

4. Toggle the option from "off" to "on" Bumble will only access your location when you have the app open.

To enable location services for Bumble on iPhone, follow these steps:

What does the blue or white tick next to a username mean?

The blue tick on a white background indicates that the person has verified their profile with at least two verification methods. If a user has a white tick on a blue background next to their name, this user has verified their profile with a photo and at least one other method.

Why am I not receiving any matches?

Dating can be tough but don’t be discouraged! A great way to increase your chances of making a match is by fully filling out your profile. Follow this checklist to optimize your account: 

  1. Add six high-quality photos - Having quality photos that clearly show your face can help you get the results you’re looking for. Use portrait mode and the timer on your phone to work all your angles.
  2. Verify your profile - This shows users you’re the real deal!
  3. Have a thoughtful bio - The more specific you are when talking about your hobbies and interests, the easier it is for admirers to connect with you over shared passions. Bonus tip: If you don’t have first-move privileges, consider adding a conversation starter to your bio to make it easier for matches to send that nerve-wracking opening message.
  4. Add Profile Prompts - The more information you have about yourself, the better! Use every inch of your profile to help you stand out from the crowd and show that you're invested in your search for meaningful connections.
  5. Link your Spotify and Instagram accounts - This gives users a chance to see more of what you are all about!
  6. Fill out your Basic Info Badges - The more information you fill out, the higher your chances are of appearing in other users' search results.

How can I hide my account?

If you don't want to use your account for a while, you have the option to hide it. When your account is hidden, you will not appear in People Nearby or Encounters. But those people you've been in contact with already, will still be able to see you in their Connections and send you messages.

If you want to hide your profile please do the following:
  1. Open your profile page
  2. Tap on Settings and Account
  3. Make sure the 'Hide account' option at the top of the page is turned on.

How can I reactivate my deleted profile?

First thing’s first: welcome back!

If you deleted your profile less than 28 days ago, you should have a confirmation email from us that includes a reactivation link. Click that and you’ll be able to jump right back in.

If it’s been longer, you’ll need to create a new profile – a good excuse to switch things up and try a different approach, maybe?

How can I change my location on Bumble Web?

Your location should be automatically determined by your Internet browser. If your location is incorrect, please make sure that you grant permission for your browser to access your location.

To manually update your location please follow these steps:

  1. Click your profile image located in the upper left-hand corner of the screen
  2. Click "Settings"
  3. Scroll until you see "Location"
  4. Beside the city there will be a refresh icon
  5. Click the icon and your location will update to the latest city pinged by your browser

Please note that if you are also using Bumble via the app, your profile will default to your phone location; this will update each time you launch the app.

Does Bumble have a swipe limit?

Seeing a screen that you’ve hit the end of the line? Don’t worry; this is not a technical issue.

In order to help foster more genuine, quality connections for our users and encourage more intentional swiping we incorporated a daily swipe limit. We know the more thoughtful our users are about their swipes, the more likely they are to strike up conversations that lead to meaningful connections.

Once you hit your daily swipe limit, you will have to wait 24 hours for your swipes to reset (e.g. if you hit the limit at 8 pm your swipes will refresh at 8 pm the next day). If you would like to continue swiping, you can get unlimited votes with a Bumble Boost or Bumble Premium subscription.

If your swipes don’t reset after 24 hours, reach out to our Support Team so we can get you back up and buzzin’. Here is how to get in contact with our team:

  1. Directly within the app through the "Contact & FAQ" button.

How can I amend my stored payment method?

Open your settings by clicking on the cog icon in the top right corner of your profile page, scroll down to the Payment Settings section and click on it to edit. You'll then be able to unlink your payment method.

Why can't I see someone's location on their profile?

If a user’s location isn’t showing on their profile –– don’t worry. A location won’t appear if that user has set their profile on Snooze mode (for folks you’ve already matched with), if they are not near one of our geographical pinpoints, or if they haven’t opened the app for several days.

I’ve accidentally signed into the wrong Facebook account. How do I switch?

If you accidentally used the wrong Facebook account to log in, don’t worry! Getting back to your original account can be done in a few easy steps:

Mobile:

  1. Select the profile avatar on the bottom left corner of the main screen.
  2. Select the grey gear in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and select “Log Out.”
  4. Launch the Facebook app and make sure you are signed in to the correct account.
  5. Relaunch the Bumble app and select “Continue with Facebook.”

Web:

  1. Click on your profile photo at the top left corner on your screen.
  2. Click “Log out.”
  3. Open Facebook in another tab and make sure you are signed in to the account you want to use.
  4. Go back to bumble.com and sign in by selecting “Continue with Facebook.”

How can I change my gender?

To change your gender using the mobile app follow these steps:

  1. Tap the grey pencil to edit your profile
  2. Scroll down to “My Basic Info” and tap your current gender
  3. Select your gender from our options
  4. If you chose a non-binary option you will be prompted to make a selection in the "I'd like to be shown to..." section (you can change this as many as you would like)

To change your gender on Bumble Web follow these steps:

  1. Click your profile image in the upper left-hand corner
  2. Scroll down and click “My Basic Info”
  3. Scroll down to "Gender" and click "More options..."
  4. If you chose a non-binary option you will be prompted to make a selection in the "I'd like to be shown to..." section (you can change this as many as you would like)

Please note that if you’re changing your gender from Man to Woman or Woman to Man, you will only be able to change your gender twice in the app. If your gender is not Man or Woman this limit does not apply to you.

How can I hide my account?

If you don't want to use your account for a while, you have the option to hide it. When your account is hidden, you will not appear in People Nearby or Encounters. But those people you've been in contact with already, will still be able to see you in their Connections and send you messages.

If you want to hide your profile please do the following:
  1. Open your profile page
  2. Open your settings and tap on 'Account'
  3. Make sure the 'Hide account' option at the top of the page is turned on.

Why can’t I crop photos?

Photo uploading on Bumble is optimized so that photos fill the space they are placed within. If you upload a photo in landscape orientation, it's possible that the sides will be cropped from view. Try uploading photos in portrait orientation for best results!

Why did I run out of people to swipe on?

If you're running out of users to swipe on you may have too many filters selected in your filter settings. Too many filters will limit the number of users that fit into your search criteria.

If you run out of users to swipe on, try widening your search criteria (age and distance ranges) and removing a few Advanced Filters to expand your Hive.

What is Snooze?

Everyone needs a break sometimes. We encourage you to go offline when you need to so that you can come back feeling great, whenever you’re ready.

Snooze Mode allows you to pause your activity on Bumble without losing your connections or chats.

Snooze Mode hides your profile from potential matches for either 24 hours, 72 hours, a week, or indefinitely. 

While you’re snoozing you can even set an away status so that your existing connections are able to see you’re taking a break.

You can turn on Snooze mode via your settings by tapping ‘Snooze’ and choosing the length of time you’ll be away for.

Then, whenever you return, we’ll let your connections know and you can pick up where you left off.

How can I block a user?

To block a user, please visit their profile, select the icon in the top right corner of their profile and select 'Block or report'. Please note that blocking a user will stop their messages from reaching you, but the user will still be able to view your profile.

How long do expired matches stay in my queue?

There isn’t a time limit on your expired matches. Your match queue holds five expired matches at one time. If you exceed five, the oldest expired match will be bumped to make room for the newer expired match.

How can I view my matches?

Ready to make the first move or want to look through your matches? Follow these steps to view all of the users you have connected with:

  1. Tap the chat bubble on the lower right corner of your screen
  2. At the top of this screen, you will see your Match Queue

Your Match Queue will show you all of the users you have matched with as well as your expired connections.

Why am I being asked to add a social network account when I try to log in?

No need to worry! If you need to add a social network account to your profile again we just want to ensure that you're the real owner of the profile. You only need to re-verify with a method you've already linked to your profile in the past. If you experience issues with this just contact our Customer Care Team and we will help you.

How can I access my profile if I cannot see the captcha symbols?

If you need to enter captcha symbols but you are not able to see them, it may be due to some plugins or antivirus software installed on your computer. Try turning them off or deinstall them and you will see the symbols.

How can I unblock a user?

Once you've blocked a user, it's not possible to unblock them.

Block & Report

Your safety comes first on Bumble. If something happens that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please report it.

There are two different ways to report someone on Bumble - via their profile, and via a conversation.

To report someone from their profile, please follow these steps:

Scroll to the bottom of their profile and tap the "Hide & Report" button.

Choose one of the report reasons and include any additional comments for our moderation team. You can share as much or as little information as you feel comfortable with, but the more information we have, the easier it is for us to support you and take action.

Tap "Submit report".

To report a user from the Conversations menu, please follow these steps:

From your conversation, tap on the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner.

From here, tap “Block & Report”.

Be sure to specify the reason for the report and submit it. You can share as much or as little information as you feel comfortable with, but the more information we have, the easier it is for us to support you and take action.

Once we receive the report, our moderation team will review it as soon as possible. Due to privacy guidelines, we can’t always reveal the results of a report, but please know that we take every report seriously and handle each case with care.

If you are unable to find a conversation, it could be that your match has deleted their account, has been blocked on Bumble or has decided to unmatch you for now. If that is the case, rather than this match disappearing entirely, they will now appear at the bottom of your conversation list. You can still report this user by tapping on the “Help” button after clicking on the match in the conversation list.

How can I report a fake profile?

We have a zero-tolerance policy for fake profiles on Bumble and a team that works 24/7 to keep them out of the Hive. If you ever see something suspicious, please don’t hesitate to report it to us!

If you come across a profile that you believe is fake, follow these steps to report it:

  1. On the user's profile, scroll to the bottom and select the "Hide and Report" option
  2. Choose "Stolen photo" as your report reason and include any additional comments for our moderation team
  3. Tell us a little more information about what happened
  4. Tap "Submit report"

If you have already matched and started a conversation with a user that you'd like to report, the process will be a little bit different. Please follow these steps:

  1. From your conversation, tap on the 3 dots in the top right hand corner
  2. Select the option to "Block and Report"
  3. Choose "Stolen photo" as your report reason and include any additional comments for our moderation team
  4. Tell us a little more information about what happened
  5. Tap "Submit report"

Additionally, you can contact our Support Team directly and include the following information:

  • The exact name, age, bio, and photos that appear on the profile that you are reporting (if you have them, screenshots are very helpful!)
  • The location (city, state, country) where the profile was seen

Other information that could help includes the user's move makers and/or additional photos that are used on the profile. The more details you can provide, the quicker we’ll be able to locate and remove this profile from the Hive.

What is Moves Making Impact?

With the help of Vital Voices, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating spaces for women to be heard, we created Moves Making Impact. This initiative utilizes empowered first moves on Bumble to uplift women facilitating change globally. With each first move made on Bumble, we're making a donation to one of three women who are doing incredible work for Human Rights, Ending Hunger, and Equal Pay. You’re able to change the cause your first moves support at any time by following these steps:

  1. Select the silhouette icon in the bottom left corner
  2. Select the cog/settings icon in the top left corner
  3. Scroll down and select 'Moves Making Impact Settings'
  4. Select the cause you’d like to support (or select ‘Learn more’ for further information)

Will my connections expire while Snoozed?

While Snoozed, matches that do not have an active conversation will expire.

Matches that you’ve been messaging with will not expire. These connections will receive your designated away status until you come back!

Can I use Bumble without giving location permissions?

At this time you do have to grant Bumble location permissions while the app is in use in order to be able to swipe on folks in your area. 

You can choose from two options:

1. While using the app - Your location will only be updated when the Bumble app is open and being used. It will not update if the app is running in the background. 

2. Always - Your location will update when the Bumble app is open and when it’s running in the background. If you don’t want your location to be updated while the app is not open, you can force close the app. 

Please note, if you choose never, you will not be able to make any new matches. You’ll be able to correspond with existing matches, but in order to be seen or swipe on anyone new, you’ll need to reactivate Location Services.

Who will be able to see my profile when Snoozed?

While Snoozed, your profile will only be viewable to your current connections.

Will I still be able to chat to my matches with Snooze on?

While Snooze Mode is on, your profile will be hidden in the swipe deck for all users. However, you can still chat with your existing matches while remaining on Snooze. 

Whether you’re actively chatting with anyone or not, once you decide to turn off Snooze all of your current matches will be notified that you are back and active on Bumble. 

Will my matches be notified when I turn Snooze off?

Yes! We created Snooze to provide a way for users to take a break while also fostering online accountability. We notify your matches when you’re back online in order to foster this accountability and ensure that everyone is treated with kindness and respect.

Will I receive a notification when my profile in ‘un-snoozed’?

Yes! We will send you a notification when your designated Snooze period expires and welcome you back to the Hive!

Will I still be able to swipe when my profile is on Snooze?

When your profile is Snoozed, all of your activity on Bumble will be paused. This means that you will not be able to swipe or match with users until you turn off the feature, or when your designated Snooze period ends.

How do I delete my profile?

Made a meaningful connection and no longer on the dating scene? 

Finding a great romantic connection doesn’t mean having to step back from your social and business growth! You can delete just your Date profile while sticking around on Bizz and BFF. Here’s how:

  • Head into your settings by tapping the silhouette icon followed by the grey gear in the upper right-hand corner of the app

Note: If you’d like to save your memories with a special match, be sure to do that before moving further. Once you take the next step you won’t be able to go back to grab screenshots as a keepsake.

Once you’ve toggled off Date Mode, you will be prompted with a message to let you know that your dating profile will be permanently deleted and all of your connections will be erased in Date mode.

Need a digital detox?

You can take a break without losing your entire account. Check out our Snooze feature which allows you to pause your account activity without losing any matches or conversations. 

Calling it quits for real?

To delete your account, please follow these steps:

  • Open the Bumble app
  • Tap on the grey silhouette in the bottom left corner 
  • Tap on the gear icon located in the upper right corner to access your settings
  • Scroll to the bottom of your settings
  • Tap on “Delete account”
  • Select the reason for deleting your account
  • Tap on “Delete account” again
  • Type in the word “delete” in all lowercase letters
  • Tap on “Confirm”

As with other apps, simply removing, uninstalling, or deleting the Bumble app from your phone will not delete your account. You must follow the steps above to delete your profile. To confirm your account has been deleted, you should be brought back to the registration page on the Bumble app. If you try to log back in, it’ll automatically create a new account.

If you find that you're unable to use the steps outlined above to delete your account, we have a designated team that can assist you further by contacting us here. Simply choose the "request my data" option and fill in the relevant information. Be sure to specify that you'd like your account to be deleted or erased.

This process can take up to 30 days to be completed and will require our team to verify your identity to confirm you are the account owner and have a right to make such a request.

Please note: Deleting your profile does not cancel your subscription. If you subscribed to a paid Bumble Boost subscription you will need to take the necessary steps to cancel this to ensure you are not charged an auto-renewal subscription fee.
